Just reviewed multiple variations of rhizome.
I’ve come to some conclusions.
I think a vast majority of features and decisions can be gutted. I was really trying to make an app for power users but where a gentle scrolling mechanic would have sufficed. I think the best decisions were always when I removed something that didn’t work.
Focusing and doubling down on what did work.
While building it. You have a rough idea of what you think works. But without user feedback like everyday it’s hard to know for a fact if something will stick.
I think stripping out the multi image thing on mobile. Making it easy to browse. Would have much higher ROI for users. If you can simplify the ui. You should.
Every pixel on screen has to earn its right to be there.
