Gotten some good feedback on the new guidelines (thank you!) - We're sharpening the approach to spam mitigation and will most likely have a form to flag spam accts rather than the requirement to have all posted artworks be onchain. We'll keep evolving the channel as FC makes changes to the platform. More soon! ✌️

Update from @dwr.eth on the FC overhaul of channels on Friday. Glad to see the team experimenting and iterating – more changes will be coming.
Our goal is to make /superrare the best community channel on the planet.
Nobody likes rules, but every community space requires moderation.
The rule about only onchain art may seem strict, but Farcaster has had huge problems with spam and low-effort posting in order to farm for tips. We're trying this out in the near term to ensure quality conversation, and it's subject to change.

The market size for tokenized art is as large as the value of attention, patronage, and status of 5.2 billion people on the internet.
The core purpose of @superrare is to aid in the bootstrapping of this new, natively digital art market. An internet creator economy that throws away ad-based monetization models in favor of direct monetization of creativity.
This started out highly analogous to traditional art collecting, a natural first step along the path. But we foresee a future where the lines between art, currency, memes, and digital media continue to blur into something totally new.
Nobody knows what this will look like in ten years, but it's a fucking honor to be building the future alongside the smartest artists, designers, builders and collectors of a generation.
