Setting up a personal website & blog is a bit overwhelming. There are so many options & it’s hard to know what you want to optimize for.

I’m using Notion right now b/c I generally like the writing experience on Notion & use it for personal task management & notes already. There are definite limitations though, & I need to think through how I build an email listserv if my content lives on Notion.
In college, I spent a summer doing cold-calling for a value-added reseller (VAR) of HP and Dell hardware products. The cold-calling was less fun, but learning about the VAR model was worth it.

As web3 matures, we need to start thinking about VARs & channel sales. How do you activate a network of resellers for your product? This is how you scale 10x.
When you talk to web3 teams, they just want their payment experiences to work. It shouldn’t take days of development work to set up a checkout experience.

Shopify has been so successful b/c they make the entire process extremely simple. By choosing Shopify you know you’re not losing customers because of the checkout experience.
In negotiating 101, you learn the term BATNA ("Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement”). Essentially, good negotiating comes down to how well you can strengthen your BATNA.

When negotiating with a toddler, you often have no BATNA. It’s fork up the extra Ritz cracker or deal with a meltdown. The cracker seems like a bargain deal.
The startup operation playbook is constantly evolving. You’re never going to keep up on your own.

There is no replacement for a strong network that you can rely on to give you guidance when you have new questions or challenges.
Grooming my to-do-list on Sunday rather than Monday morning has a huge effect on my outlook for the week.

It’s hard to find time on the weekend to do planning, but it makes a huge difference when you come into the week feeling like you have a gameplan.
10 out of 10 recommend working abroad at some point in your career.

You learn a ton on so many different levels; it can potentially accelerate your trajectory, and it allows you significantly more interesting at dinner parties.
Tether and Circle hold a lot of US treasury bonds, but are their holdings significant compared to the overall size of US debt?

I finally took some time to do a little writing on this & pose a few questions we should keep in mind on this topic.

When assessing the quality of a BD, we tend to focus on their network.

We don’t do this as much for operations folks. I think that’s a mistake. You want an operator who is well-connected & has the network to draw on to find solutions fast.

Next time you hire an operations person, understand their network.
As a one-person, part-time marketing team, when you tell me “oh yeah, I’ve heard of @loopcrypto ,” you have no idea how validating that is. Means I’m doing one part of my job semi-successfully :)
Some days you just hit parenting flow state & everything runs smoothly.

This is rare. Most days my toddler doesn’t want to get in the car seat unless bribed.
The ability to be reactive and move quickly is one of our biggest advantages as a startup.
I took a negotiation class in business school. It was useful, but I’ve learned 10x more negotiating tactics from my toddler.
Excited to share a case study on one of our newest clients: Frenglish.

They're an AI-powered translation solution designed for teams working in multi-lingual environments.

2022 was clearly the peak for stablecoin issuance, but we’re getting close again. USDC and other stables have clearly receded in the last 2 years as the minting of USDT has continued.

It’s also interesting to see just how much market share BUSD (the yellow bar) had before being shut down. (hat tip Artemis)
There’s no perfect formula for remote, hybrid, or fully in-person work. It varies by the type of work you’re doing.

For me, hybrid works well. Dropping & picking up my kid from school most days is special. My dad never got to do that.
Cheese quesadilla is apparently the unlock.

Lunchbox came home & lunch was actually eaten. Small parenting win.
When I tell NYC crypto people that I live in the suburbs, I might as well live on the moon.

I think the perception is that the moon is roughly the same distance from Soho as the burbs.
One of the challenging things about working in crypto is that the collective sentiment can often feel tied to the price of Bitcoin. That shouldn’t be the case though.

Stablecoin usage is steadily moving up and to the right regardless of crypto prices. (hat tip Artemis.xyz)
Tracking remittance data is tough! I wanted to get a sense check of how much remittance volume might be flowing via crypto rails.

Did some digging & want to share my findings. We definitely need more data & studies on this topic, but hopefully, this is a starting point.

<20% of Farcaster users have cast more than 100 times.

Given the distribution of users by cast activity, it looks like there's still a ton of opportunity to build a strong account if you're casting daily.

While everyone is on a plane to Singapore, just quietly building here in NYC. Kind of peaceful ☮️ 😊
Always fun when I get to work with a new client that fits perfectly into our value prop @loopcrypto & understands the value add of crypto payments from day one.

This is the experience of checking out for the crypto trading terminal chainEDGE.io
Lots of helpful nuggets here. Feel like someone would have typically billed me $1k to get this non-advice.
One L vs. two Ls when it comes to all the permutations of "cancel"???

We have Americans, a Canadian, and a South African on the team. It's a constant battle in our docs either adding or removing Ls.

Ofc in American English you're technically supposed to use canceled and cancellation, so as a country we can't even make up our own minds if we want the one or two Ls.
