MetaMask Token? Still Up in the Air 👀
MetaMask is still undecided on whether it will launch its own token, according to co-founder Dan Finlay in a recent interview with The Block. When asked about the possibility, Finlay responded, “It might happen, it might not.”
The idea of a MetaMask token has been floated since 2021, and while parent company Consensys has long expressed interest in decentralizing its products through tokenization, regulatory uncertainty and the potential for scams have kept the team cautious.
Despite the hesitation, MetaMask continues to dominate as the leading Ethereum wallet, with 30 million monthly active users, but it faces growing competition from newer, more user-friendly wallets like Rainbow and Rabby.

Former Aptos CEO Reveals He’s Holding SUI
Despite stepping down as CEO of Aptos Labs in late December last year (source), project co-founder Mo Shaikh recently shared on X that he still holds about 98% of his APT tokens. He also encouraged others to consider investing in tokens built within the Move language ecosystem.
When someone jokingly commented that he’d probably be much richer by now if he had switched to SUI, Mo Shaikh replied:
“I actually hold quite a bit of SUI as well.”

The SEC will use its existing authority to issue clear and transparent regulations, rather than operating in a vague, reactive manner.
It will develop specific guidelines for classifying which digital assets are considered securities.
The agency is considering allowing self-custody of digital assets for funds and financial advisors (under certain conditions).
It is exploring conditional exemptions for projects looking to pilot new products that don't yet fit within the existing legal framework.
