Has there been times before now when the truth didn't seem like the sort of thing logical methods were useful for?

Does rationalism get used as a tool to justify other things we believe?
Have you had an interesting old console game experience this week?
I'm going to share some of the custom UI elements we developed for our revisionist early Mac style stuff.

It was a deliberate choice to add the primary colors both for visual interest and to sort of make a sort of statement about these being traditional print primary colors associated with the arts as opposed to the more accurate 1-bit world of early mac. In a sense, the expanded (but still limited) palette sets the whole project in a sort of historical fiction mode.

You can, of course, see these in action at iamnotgoodatcomputer.com
If you haven't seen it yet - iamnotgoodatcomputer.com is the newest experience I launched with @pfeffunit and @luka - I'm very proud of it.

It's a trip through stacks of HyperCard style retro mini-essays combined with some really magical generative art that protocell:labs made with me. All things considered, though, what I'm most proud of is how the strengths of my collaborators came together with me to really make something that none of the three of us could have made alone.
Did you have any feelings this week or have you been letting the numbness take over?
iamnotgoodatcomputer.com has been minting - more rewarding has been the interactions with people.

I wonder how much the text makes people think? I liked this one - Timothy really does seem to think the internet has gone wrong. @riotgoools would be into it.
If this trailer doesn't get you hyped to explore iamnotgoodatcomputer.com hypercard stacks and think about the future and the past - I don't know what else to hit you with my guy.
One thing I stumbled across while researching and introspecting for this project - I learned a lot about Rammellzee I didn't know before and this one quote from him - "we have to build this so they remember that we lived" - he told his friend that while he was neck deep in one of his esoteric self-myth projects, a while before he died.

I felt that line deep in me. We have to build these things so we can feel less ephemeral. We have to express and explore so we feel like our existence wasn't so light it was painful.
I was going to mention - we considered deploying this whole project /iangac on eth mainnet, but when gas went from 10 to 35 for a few days it was a harsh reminder that there's a reason we need dependable L2s like /base and @jessepollak - something that integrates with OS on a chain that won't evaporate in a year.

5x the price of a relatively cheap NFT just to have it on the main ledger is not really fun.

I love seeing saves of the UI we spent a lot of time developing. The thank you screens are cobbled together from tons of old mac artifacts and clip-art buried in HyperCard stacks. It's meant to feel like a rizzed up version of these kind of antique digital stationary designs.
Sharing in my main feed: this project took an eternity to put together. It's retro generative art, it's concept art, it's a collection of writings and ideas and hopefully a really fleshed out statement about the present using the context of yesteryear.

Even if you're not interested in collecting any tokens, the project stands as an invitation: please check it out. More posts on this in /iangac
It's LIVE - head over to iamnotgoodatcomputer.com to experience the new thing.

A couple notes: There's two parts to the project - HyperCards and Screens. The hypercards are pretty cheap, 10 of each card. You can get a discount on the generative screens (made with @luka ) for every 4 cards you mint.

There's original music by DUSKO, and I hope you have all the time in the world to explore the complex networked set of ideas in the stacks.

It's finally finished, launching tomorrow: I Am Not Good At Computer ( /iangac )
Here's an intro video that explains what it is and what we're doing:

Stay tuned at iamnotgoodatcomputer.com for the site launch!
So we finally found and sorted the archive of the Inaccessible Worlds: Lost Levels un-minted artwork - let me share some of the unminted ones that were previously *actually* lost.

We're fixing a few bugs in IANGAC. Maybe next week?

Sneak peeks from For the Culture 2:
What vague memories do you have of cartridge console gaming?
The entire advice artists need for not getting scammed is just this: no one has seen your portfolio and wants to hire you to work on their random web3 game. No one wants to buy their boss some of your art. No one needs you to interact with them to buy your art tokens listed elsewhere. The irony is that if you want money really really badly, you're likely to be scammed or have your wallet drained.
One of the most frustrating things about having young boys is how many things you discover that would functionally never break but can be destroyed quickly and easily by a restless intelligence with little hands.
I think so far what I like about Warpcast is there’s multiple people using it I wouldn’t mind having a conversation with once a day or so.

There’s a lot of funny and bonkers stuff on X, but less people I genuinely want to have a casual familiarity and rapport with.

This is kind of what it’s like writing a *lot* of text meant for an nft project.
