In watching Rings of Power, it made me wonder when/where the trope started of fantasy dwarves speaking with Scottish accents? Turns out a 1961 fantasy book 'Three Hearts & Three Lions' by Poul Anderson had a dwarf with a Scottish accent. Gary Gygax was very inspired by Poul Anderson. My first into was probably Warcraft
