It's been a while since I shared a poem. Being consistent with writing is a struggle; sometimes the demons win, sometimes the warrior within is victorious.

Mental health is a delicate subject. Even though it has become mainstream, it still isn’t discussed enough from a personal perspective. Art is how I embrace my vulnerability, manage my mental health, and connect with others. I’d like to share a poem that encapsulates my process.
Another attempt at capturing that which stirs inside.
I discovered Warpcast as a developer, I was curious about the tech and the builders. But then I found the /poetry channel and took a risk sharing some of my own. Soon I was creating AI generated illustrations to accompany them. Today, art is the main reason I hang out here.

This morning I woke up and saw a bunch of notifications in Zora. I felt immense gratitude towards the community's support and was inspired to write.
Its funny because the feeling I articulated is very different to gratitude but its one I've been struggling with lately.

A knot in my stomach,
I start to fall—
no safety rail to grab,
nobody around to catch me,
no parachute to stop me
from crashing.
I fucked up—
adrenaline confirms it.
And I realize
it’s futile to fight
gravity’s pull—
so, I surrender
to the free fall,
and let the void
take me into its dark embrace.

I've always been partial to the plastic arts but as I've grown older I've drifted away from them and towards the written word. This last month I've been having such an amazing time experimenting with AI and giving life to my poems that I decided to create an NFT Collection. This is the 11th item in the collection.
