Hockey is more than just a sport – it’s a powerful way for kids to build strength, resilience, and confidence. On the ice, they learn teamwork, discipline, and quick thinking, all while having fun and making lifelong friendships ~ especially when traveling together.
Every practice teaches them to overcome challenges, and every game helps them grow mentally and physically.
Hockey is also an excellent sport for kids with ADHD because its fast pace and offers structured gameplay to keep them actively engaged and focused.

I had a rather busy weekend with mornings starting at 5am, but it was also very satisfying. My son’s team made second place and I am super proud and impressed that he wanted to play despite a swollen ankle ~ he twisted his foot playing on turf the first day but pulled off shooting 3 goals 🙃.
I had to take long hot baths each night to defrost 🥶, but thankfully Oklahoma had beautiful late summer days and just sitting in the sun for a moment felt extra special.

For our last night at the Oklahoma Hockey Tournament, our Team Manager got seats next to the Tulsa Oilers bench! Kids were super excited to fist bump the team and mascot 😍

My son has been playing ice hockey since he was 4 years old, starting out in NYC and participating in rec leagues until this past May. In August, he had the incredible opportunity to join a travel team, and in just two months, his skills have grown beyond anything we imagined!
Ice hockey, however, is an expensive sport, and many lower-income families struggle to keep up with the costs due to the limited funding available for individual players. That’s why I want to extend a huge thank you to @kugusha.eth and /higher-athletics for their crypto donation, which helped us purchase a new chest guard for our son. Your support means a lot!
I’m also excited to share that our team has relaunched their foundation, which will allow us to collect and distribute funds on a team-wide level as we secure donations from public and private sources.
