The collective buzz around MCP feels like a collective embrace of the idea that AI is hitting a wall—that these things won’t be smart enough, for the foreseeable future, to interact agentically with the world without relying on dumbed-down APIs.
Think Deep Research could be great at tech support.
My Apple TV was sometimes arbitrarily stuttering. This kind of thing is super annoying to solve because all you've got are hundreds of forum posts by people who's problem may or may not be the same, with answers from people who are just guessing, and content mill websites that suggest you turn it on/off again.
Deep Research gave me a list of like 4 things to try, and I think it actually fixed it!

is anyone working on dark patterns to coax Operator into buying travel travel insurance?
obvious feature request: a voice assistant should match the volume of the speaker; it's late at night, and I speak in a low voice, don't wake the whole house.
Recently ran into a Zigbee device that you can pair, but wouldn't show any controls.
Turns out that HA ships with an entire database of custom code for devices that don't follow the specs, called zha-quirks. One company, Tuya, just built an entire custom protocol on top of Zigbee.

The International Space Station has just passed over the Gulf of Mexico.
Setup a Home Assistant Voice Preview edition. Huge improvement over the Atom M5 thing they had people build previously.

reminder of what we are missing out on in the LLM era
If you proceed here, you lose more than half your money to slippage.
Just subscribed to Devin. Let's find out if I can retire.
Has anyone written about how Apple TVs new "Enhance Dialogue" feature works? Secretly hoping someone is working on adding this to Plex/Jellyfin/VLC.
A recent round on echo was a prospective L1 called Fogo, which takes Solana's Firedancer codebase and proposes to geographically colocate the validators to further optimize performance. This is the logical conclusion of the "users don't care about decentralization" argument.
all the other home automation channels seem dead / unmaintained, would love to see an active one on this platform.
are you using a fancy sensor for the room light on/off thing (mmWave?) I've found that a regular PIR sensor is quite rough and will not trigger for someone sitting at e.g. a desk for a while.
It had been my impression, that basically anything cool built on Ethereum in the last few years, had nothing to do with the foundation, and that seemed totally fine. The current obsession with what EF does feels strange.

love that someone is building this

homomorphic encryption is so cool, it totally breaks people's intuition about what is possible with privacy.
@ledgerofficial with crypto I am supposed to download an app called "crypto.com" which apparently wants to me make an account at their exchange first???
state of the market
So is Hyperliquid essentially a memecoin, or are they for real?
copiolot just suggested the comment "XXX: this is a mess" and I don't feel great about it, idk
