I had the last days my thoughts about this and would like to add my personal thoughts.
Point 1 and 5 are for me the only ones referring to โspammyโ behaviour -
2-4 are more about taste and style and if people are able to grow with replaceable content.
Looking at those 5 points I still have no idea why actually I got a (1) spam label for 2 weeks ๐ค
3 ideas I have about this topic since it is really harming DAUs and growth of Farcaster.
1) give a better feedback why the algorithm flagged you
2) get a possibility to get unflagged (support/ticket) since people donโt know what to do if they feel being flagged by accident
3) decentralised flagging, we are all here in web3 for decentralisation - so rather having a centralised algorithm flagging people rely more on people getting marked as spam by the community and let the algorithm do its work only for heavy spammers/bots/abusers

tons of users have been reaching out to me re: spam labels. when i look at their content, these are the 5 most common pieces of feedback i give:
1. donโt only post mini-apps. think of warpcast as early facebook: if someone only posted dolphin olympics screenshots every day, people would tune them out.
2. avoid overly generic content. casting "gm" or inspirational quotes is fine occasionally, but if your feed feels interchangeable with anyone elseโs, itโs hard for people to connect with you.
3. don't use AI thoughtlessly. people notice when casts or replies feel like ChatGPT wrote them. itโs fine to use AI, just add real thoughts or emotions. authenticity wins here.
4. donโt repost stolen photos / art from the internet. farcaster values original content or curation that reflects your taste โ not just whatโs trending on pinterest, reddit, or X.
5. quality > quantity. you donโt need to cast 10x a day or reply to everyone everywhere. take time to cast things you would stop scrolling to read.

The notion that taxing Lesotho gemstones is necessary for the U.S. to add steel jobs in Ohio is so absurd that I briefly lost consciousness in the middle of writing this sentence.
