A home for adventure lovers of every variety 🌎🏔🌊✈️

bringing good vibes back to the timeline. 🌈
the other day we gathered with friends and just decided to go out of town to the forest for barbecue

I saw squirrels, I saw a hare, I was in the moment, and it was super cool for me, as for a person who stays at home all day long
who's the most influential person you’ve met?

mine's a toss-up between Steph Curry, Barack Obama, and Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

met rbg as a law graduate. i thanked her for her service and was otherwise rendered speechless. we were asked not to touch her.

met barack at a fundraiser at oprah’s house. he spoke pidgin to me.

met steph at a basketball camp when i was running a nonprofit. my motto is you don't get 100% of the things you don't ask for. so i called his press team and asked if he’d meet some of the kids and he said yes!

we got a meet & greet and signed gear. AND the kids grew up bay area and were lifelong GSW fans!!

this is the letter they sent me after the visit. more pics in the comments 👇
I will not exchange the beauty and peace in nature with anything۰🤗👌
While studying in Austria, some friends & I watched 'Eurotrip' then immediately booked flights to Bratislava, Slovakia to replicate the entire experience.

We didn't last long & tbh our biggest adventures were visiting the green fairy & scoping out food options, which mainly consisted of meat, potatoes & Mc'Everything.

Couple pics below and more in the comments 👇
Destination beach in sight.

Descend was steeper than expected. Would have taken the hiking sticks. Waves were strong. Too strong for a swim.

☹️ Kids didn’t want to explore construction side of the tunnel. Missed opportunity.

😀 Kids had first hitch ride experience. Bus got cancelled. Some guy suddenly stopped, informed us and agreed to take us.
Watching the sunrise in nature and the beautiful sky will make my day. Always be happy my good friends☀️🌻
Dropping a climbing pic as a nod to fellow mountain goat @jachian who is generously sponsoring today's @burrrrrberry frens poker ♣️

This was a short route out at Goat's Rock on the Sonoma coast. Super fun spot with incredible views. Just beware the dreaded poison oak 😖

I'm not climbing as much these days, but used to love top-roping every chance I got while traveling since there aren't too many spots in Hawaii.

Might make an exception if Jason and I ever get to connect on the road tho ;) In the meantime, come join us on the tables today. A pile of $DEGEN to go around!! Thanks for sponsoring Jason 🫶
Nothing like a 2,500 ft. climb to reset the entire perspective.

today's /adventure did not disappoint.
Hello friends, have a happy day and enjoy the beauty of nature🤗🌼
one of our favorite things to do is scour google earth to discover hidden gems that are off the beaten path.

on my second visit to iceland we spent a large chunk of our time off roading and hiking to random isolated waterfalls.

it's a little risky because you're almost certain to lose service and it'd be hours (or days) before someone might find you.

but 10 times out of 10 the reward has always been worth it.
Massive news coming out of the climbing community. Great read, can’t wait for Jimmy to drop the doc.

when a friend got married in his hometown of fiji, a bunch of us rented jet skis for a day and took a 65 km day trip to the tiny island of beqa.

i missed the part in training where they told us we'd 'probably' encounter reef sharks (which we def did while snorkeling).

and we were a little unprepared for the squalls and rough surf.

and didn't bring any food and barely any water.

but damn if that wasn't the most crystal clear blue water i've ever seen in my life ... and i swear you'll never get a bigger adrenaline rush than a shark pulling up on you snorkeling.

some other thoughts on fiji:
- best indian food outside of india
- slit your throat hand motion means 'i think you're cute' not 'i want to kill you'
- world class river rafting
- sand golf is a thing
- not all islands are created equal

high recommend.
my fave channel (and thing to do irl)
this guy’s youtube videos were a huge part of my childhood. cool to see that he’s still at it after all these years

Last day in Thailand 😔
update: he made it out 😊😮‍💨😊

this is a section of the skinny ass ridge he crossed today. there are 3,000 ft drops on either side and it was wet and howling wind.

this kind of hiking is way above my pay grade, but it’s been on his list forever so i had to smile and be supportive.

he made it back, so now excuse me while i pour myself a shot of relief 🥃
Last night's Big Island sunset at Hapuna Beach. While experiencing this, I was listening to a huge group doing Hawaiian chants. It was incredible.
my guy is tackling a very challenging (and super sketch if we’re being honest) hike today.

we took the boards out at sunset to help get in the zone and ease both our anxieties.

pls send some good thoughts his way today for a fun adventure and safe return. ⛰️
Of all the adventures I've had, swimming with whale sharks in the Philippines is very near the top of the list.

If this is on your bucket list, pls be mindful of ethical encounters. I highly advise against tours where they're chumming the water, and give them their space. They're friendly, curious creatures if you encounter them in the wild. Find a reputable guide who values protection and conservation.
Have you noticed that when it comes to vacations that wanting or waiting often feels better than having or going?

The anticipation of it all is so intoxicating
When visiting your hometown feels like a vacation
booted the first spammer from /adventure today. maybe a channel link in profile isn’t the best way to go. (h/t @justbuild 😆)

will cook up a frame and some solutions this weekend.

in the meantime, happy adventuring!
I think sand dunes are magical. Something about the ever-changing windswept landscape is mesmerizing.

And while Great Sand Dunes National Park in Colorado doesn't offer a lot of hardcore adventures, there's still enough to make the long journey out there worth it, from sand sledding to hiking to tube riding on the 'beach.'

Mendano Creek is the runoff from Colorado's snowmelt and it forms a wave pool / beach that runs through the park in the spring.

pro tips: rent sand sleds before you go, and try to plan your trip around the creek flow. def helps to keep cool in the heat.
Confession: I just wrapped up a big project for a client and have been spending the last few days trip planning.

I'm having paralysis with all the options, and as much as I really want to check my 50th country off the list, I can't escape the comfort (and ease) of exploring a place I've already visited.

Banff and the Candian Rockies was so insanely gorgeous and I'd love to see it this time of year. I mean, just look at this stunner of a lake 🤩

I'm still meticulously scanning every nook and cranny on Google Earth, but honestly ready to just throw some darts at the map and leave it to fate 🍀
