Our Alocasia Zebrina is blooming?

For first time since we had this plant (I think it has been at least 6 years) the plant is now blooming, having grown 2 of these. Doing a quick google yields conflicting information, should I just cut these out to prevent the plant from using too much energy on them, or leave them be?

I don’t find them smelly but also don’t consider the appearance attractive. Would love to know what is wise.

If I cut, do I cut low on the stem?
