Here’s what I did in NYC this weekend
I went to this venue in the LES called Silence Please where @base was sponsoring the premiere of @shibuyafilm Shibuya Season 1 shorts.
Shibuya is this platform that’s one part streaming one part crowdfunding, that basically gives creators and film makers the tools to raise capital, build community, and bring their projects to life one episode at a time
The launch party debuted their first 5 indie short films. Some were animation and some live action, all were incredible!shoutout to @pplpleasr!

Plot. A girl named Tomo Aizawa has been practicing karate since childhood, so she is stronger than many of her peers. Including her best friend Junichiro, with whom she is secretly in love. But the guy doesn't perceive her as a romantic interest — and something has to be done about it.
Why it's worth watching. This is the funniest anime comedy of the year so far. We are watching a couple where the girl is trying her best to please her lover. The guy falls for her tricks, but tries not to give himself away, because otherwise he will destroy the old friendship. Their relationship is gradually changing: with each episode, the characters look less and less like old comrades. And more and more — a couple in love.

Plot. Rin Nanakura is a member of the drama club and can play a variety of characters. But what they all have in common is that they are in love with Rin's friend, Eiji. So the hero finds himself in an imaginary harem.
Why it's worth watching. This is a set of comedy sketches about how Rin pretends to be different girls and embarrasses, touches and delights Eiji. If you're a big fan of anime, you'll recognize characters from other TV series in the images that Rin plays. From Asuka from Evangelion to Kaguya from Lady Kaguya.
