Why don't more businesses adopt dynamic pricing models, e.g. surge pricing on Uber, airplane tickets, crypto trading fees, etc.

My barbershop's deserted atm (Tues AM) but super busy (Fri/Sat PM) – is static pricing a missed arbitrage opp?
Naval’s right—autonomous drones are the future of warfare.

Today’s AI drone swarms run simple algo's (e.g keep X meters apart). In 5 years, they’ll be hyper-intelligent fleets of >100K eagles.

Unequipped nations facing those with swarms = bringing a knife to a gunfight.

Do you
- avoid LLMs entirely to protect your ability to think/reason
- dip in/out of LLMs for specific tasks/projects
- actively try to use LLMs in everything you do, because they're better and you're preparing for an AI future
I'm a Builder-Pragmatist (-4.5, 3.0) on the Onchain Alignment Chart! Check out your position:

Tim Ferris pod with Naval re parenting was SUPER interesting.

TLDR they discuss “how to raise a sovereign child”, ie having almost no rules (eat whatever, school optional, sleep whenever etc.) on kids and respecting them like adults.

Would recom!

Crazy to think that if solar PV and battery efficiency both compound at 7-10% pa for 30-50 years, the world can be powered only by sunlight, and carbon emissions will collapse 🌞 Starting to see some cool DePIN companies incentivize adoption & drive innovation here

Not saying the US is likely to structurally underperform, but it may be a good time to geographically diversify if you're a long-term index investor

If you’re an A+ founder in crypto with an oversubscribed round, rather than raise your valuation, further dilute yourself, or reject new capital partners, you should considering pushing new VCs to pledge capital into your ecosystem. For example, via contributing to TVL, LP’ing, staking, ecosystem start-up funding, etc. It’s something I don’t see but that would make sense in helping projects solve cold-start and chicken-egg problems.
Interesting development – a titanium industrial plant is being entirely powered by a solar microgrid integrating solar panels and large-scale battery storage. They aim to start operations next year and scale up to 106 MW capacity by 2027.

Wonder whether this is the tip of the iceberg for an increasing number of industrial applications (e.g. compute/data centres) integrating microgrids and distributed energy solutions.

Very good book, well worth reading. Especially now, with the possibility of Iranian mass retaliation + Russia/Ukraine heating up again. Governments and societies alike should encourage restraint and avoid escalating conflicts and saber-rattling. Nuclear War / WW3 would be disastrous beyond imagination!

Is anyone here ex-investment banking? Ideally ECM. Have an idea I want stress tested!
I think more people should have kids & parents with kids should have more of them than they currently do (note: US birthrate fell to a historic low of 1.62 in 2023, well below the rate needed for population growth). It seems society is miscalculating the costs/benefits of having kids, e.g underestimating the balance of nature vs nurture and overvaluing intensive coddling VS not looking far enough ahead to appreciate the long-term joys of a larger family and future grandkids, thereby leading to fewer, later, or no kids at all. Something must change!
Just finished Freezing Order by Bill Browder, the sequel to Red Notice.

Excellent book to understand how disinformation spreads and how it can be countered + a compelling case for why existing power structures (specifically the US government) are incapable to intervene and prevent disinformation, even when in plain sight!

Must-read for those interested in global corruption, financial crime + the fight for justice.
