I'm beyond pumped for how 2025 is shaping up for the Optimism ecosystem!

🦄 Unichain

💿 Soneium

🔵 Base

🐙 Ink

⚪️ World Chain

& more

All will bring different users onchain! ~50% of L2 txns are on the Superchain, and Ink, Soneium, & Uni haven't even launched yet!
The winning thing is a misguided perspective

Winning to me looks like:

- Ethereum has been able to scale w/ many L2 ecosystems
- Those ecosystems are seamlessly interoperable despite stack.
- User journeys easily enable anyone w/ a phone to interact

and it is still so early.
Welcome Kraken’s chain, Ink, to the Superchain

⛓️ Built with Optimism's OP Stack on the Superchain

🪙 Contributing revenue to the Optimism Collective

They join juggernauts like Sony, Coinbase, Uniswap, & others that have chosen Optimism's OP Stack to scale Ethereum!
Every OP Chain in the Superchain operates under a standardized revenue sharing model with no exceptions or special treatment.

The fee split is calculated as the greater of either 2.5% of chain revenue or 15% of onchain profit, defined as fee revenue minus L1 gas fees.
Congrats Worldcoin on the launch of their OP Stack chain to mainnet today!

World-class (dad pun) teams like Coinbase, Sony, Uniswap, & Worldcoin are building on the Superchain, making OP Stack the gold standard for scaling Ethereum.

It's great to have Sam Altman and Alex Blania building on the Superchain!

🪙 Like with all the other chains, @unichain will contribute the greater of 15% of net onchain profit or 2.5% of chain rev to the Optimism Collective.

🔑 Soon a portal will launch to show who is in OP governed blockspace (key handover), what chain configuration, stage, etc.
Welcome Uniswap’s Unichain to the Superchain—a monumental moment in @optimism’s history!

With the OP Stack powering most L2 transactions today, it’s the shared standard for scaling Ethereum—bringing even competitors together for the greater good.

More cookin' left to do.
Fragmentation isn’t an issue for long.

The Superchain solves for it.

I think this time next year a vast majority of L2 transactions will be on OP Stack.

Let’s keep tackling interop and thinking bigger than our current technical constraints.
I am excited about the future of the Superchain with interoperability.

Check out Supersim (https://github.com/ethereum-optimism/supersim )

Supersim is a lightweight tool to simulate the Superchain locally (with a single L1 and multiple OP-Stack L2s).

✨ Features
* spin up multiple anvil nodes
* predeployed OP Stack contracts and useful mock contracts (ERC20)
* fork multiple remote chains (fork the entire Superchain)
* simulate L1 <> L2 message passing (deposits) and L2 <> L2 message passing (interoperability)
Q4 is going to be a movie

⛽️[Scale] Push OP Stack by working w/ Base to increase the gas target
📈[Scale] Get to 60% of all L2 txn's being on OP Stack (221% growth since March)
⛓️[Scale] Expand Superchain set w/ new partners
🪙Reward builders - Sunnys, Superfest, Retro Funding
The Superchain is coming. Access Superchain assets and apps within the interoperable chain set in less than 2 seconds, within a single block.

Optimism is the Superchain

🪙To date, the Optimism Collective has generated 14.3K ETH in revenue from the sequencer fees that OP Stack chains in the Superchain contribute!

📈There are 26 OP Stack Chains in the Superchain sharing revenue today, with more on the way
🔴 Retro Funding 5: OP Stack 🔴

8M OP is for dedicated contributors to the OP Stack. 🙌

Details are live now, check them out ✨

If this one doesn't make sense, check out Round 6 & 7 coming up!

ETH Builders,
As Retro Funding Round 4 comes to a close with 10,000,000 OP distributed to Onchain Builders in the Superchain, teams are gearing up to participate in the remainder of the upcoming rounds this year!

More to share soon!

Get ready!
Over 175 builders on Base were rewarded with over 9,000,000 OP tokens in the latest Retro Funding round because they contributed to the growth of the Superchain.

Optimism continues to grow because of the incredible app and platform developers building with and on OP Stack.
Investing in the ecosystem is important, and Retro Funding just rewarded over 200 projects w/ 10,000,000 OP

With 800,000,000 OP in Retro Funding, there's plenty to go around investing in the Superchain!

This is in addition to the 500,000,000 OP Airdrops yet to be dropped. Few.
The pivot from Optimism being one chain (OP Mainnet) to focusing on the Superchain has been a journey - the 2H will make it all a reality.

🪙 $13 billion in total assets on the Superchain
💻 14,000 ETH generated in fees to the Optimism Collective
👥4 million daily active txn's
The Superchain is bringing OP Stack chains together for seamless interoperability.

The reality is fast approaching, and Tess just dropped a ton of alpha in this thread.

READ THIS!! 🔴
EthCC was a bit off

It reminds me of what happened w/ E3 in the gaming industry. The side events became the attraction, diluting the event to the point it inevitably disappeared

The main event should do far less programming and focus on quality. Being in Cannes will help, too!
2H for Optimism will be adding more chains to the Superchain set, contributing revenue to the Optimism Collective, get other OP Stack chains to Stage 1, and begin interoperability across the Superchain.

It’s going to be a fun second half of the year.

Off to Brussels and hope to see some of you there!
The Superchain is sitting at about ~41% of all L2 transaction activity is incredible, according to GrowthePie -- they need to get Taiko and some others in here, but this is great progress for everyone building and contributing to the OP Stack.

@optimism is dialed in!
Optimism = the Superchain

OP Mainnet = Grants Council for BD + the latest version of OP Stack + OP Governance

Optimism Collective Revenue = Every OP Stack chain in the Superchain contributes the greater of 2.5% of L2 revenues or 15% of gross profit to the Optimism Collective.
56.6% of all L2 throughput is powered by the Superchain, built on the OP Stack.

That's not counting Blast, Mantle, Manta, and others using OP Stack but not sharing revenue with the OP Collective like those in the Superchain

73.92% of all L2 throughput is powered by OP Stack.
Driving Fees to the Optimism Collective is critical:

OP Stack Superchains like Base, Mode, Zora, and more commit to contributing the greater of 2.5% of gross sequencing revenue or 15% of sequencing profit (L2 profit minus L1 data costs)

Track Revenue here: https://dune.com/oplabspbc/op-collective-contribution-tracking
Personally, I think @jessepollak (and Base) have been a great advocate for the Superchain (and continue to be so). I'll always want them to talk more about Optimism, but Base has an ecosystem to build, and plugging the infrastructure all the time doesn't make sense. OP Stack chains in the Superchain need their own identity and the freedom to have that.

Here's how I see it: this is on the Optimism Collective to solve.

* Shift the narrative from "Optimism = OP Mainnet" to "Optimism = the Superchain"
* Ship interoperability (native OP token across Base, Mode, etc.)
* Keep getting large ecosystem chains to build on OP Stack, contribute revenue, and join the Superchain
* Make sure people know Base, Mode, Zora, World Chain, and all Superchains are contributing 15% of their sequencer fees to the Optimism Collective.
* Let Grants Council cook and build and invest in the future of OP mainnet

If we solve this, the story will tell itself and won't need to be authored by Base or Optimism.
