In the past, we seemed to automatically equate DAOs with democracy. Many DAO organizations immediately celebrated their democratic characteristics, but most naturally died out without self-reflection or transforming to survive.
Fortunately, members in Nouns had enough capacity for reflection and correction to bravely hit the pause button, examine the unquestioned view that "DAOs are inherently democratic," and reconsider appropriate governance forms.
Perhaps DAOs don't have to be democratic, and could even transform into non-DAOs.

With their token announcement, Zora just confirmed itself as the biggest joke in the space. Let me explain why.
First, let’s remember a few things: @zora raised $60M from tier-1 VCs, spent 6 years building, and launched its own L2. Yet after all that, the best they could come up with is a memecoin on @base?
What’s the point of having your own L2 if you won’t even use it? Oh right, they probably thought they could extract more fees from the garbage NFT mints that way. But now they're worried that launching $ZORA there would mean instant death due to the shrimp liquidity on that ghost town they call a chain.
They shouldn't worry about that tho, $ZORA is going straight to zero, no matter where they launch it.

Compared to Nouns, the auction revenue for LilNouns is practically negligible. Should we start viewing LilNouns as an on-chain business entity that needs to generate revenue (through services or paid products)?

I was thinking about whether the Nouns Break Even Movement should be adopted by Lils too. But the game here is different; whales don’t even bother providing rationale for their moves, and communication is practically nonexistent. Meanwhile, we’re burning through years of future income on initiatives with a track record of zero impact on revenue or even basic proliferation. 🤷🏻♂️

I'm always on a journey of exploration, asking questions as I go. Most have no answers, or just vague hunches, but as long as I keep moving forward, some questions eventually find their answers.
This Topics feature is fantastic! The discussions about DUNA, Break Even Movement, and tracking rugged Props are incredibly relevant right now - they're worth our attention and discussion since they directly impact Nouns' survival and future direction.
Something in the intro caught my eye though - why did "Warpcast become less of a natural home for Nouns"? What issues exist in our channel? It seemed to work well initially, but gradually the most important information disappeared, leaving only positive vibes and memes (not that memes aren't important). Why did our discourse atmosphere shift this way? Is this some kind of coordination failure?

好像提前了一年去期待链上好生意（打脸）
今年初在 FC 上确实看到了一点有做生意可行性的苗头，比如上瘾小游戏（在你有执念打下去或者买道具的时候要收费）、定位某个利基创作者群体的发行平台、让你有花钱冲动的 agent（200 多刀我还是没下得了手）…
2025 应该可以少点扯淡，多点实干，把生意做起来，每一个链上小实体（小到 VC 看不上，但自己能美滋滋活下来）都成为完整的能创收的闭环齿轮⚙️，一个扣一个地转起来。那些扯淡的稍大的组织，可以砍掉纯花钱的事情，盘点下自己的品牌资产残值，转成一个 agency去服务那些有预算的大项目方…生产、消费不再脱节，在一个合适的场合一环环匹配起来，这个场合，可能是 Base

What would build a NounishDAO for? Many DAOs on nouns.build launch with excitement but quickly fizzle out. Shouldn't we reflect on where this Nounish model actually makes sense, or what conditions it works under? Even NounsDAO itself has sustainability concerns (once the treasury dries up, where do members go?).
I'm not dismissing the model entirely. It's like the mixed reactions to Zora's Coin upgrade on Warpcast lately - some people can make the economic case that this coin-issuing model works: smaller artists can earn more from trading fees than direct sales. I believe the Nounish model can work too, but we need to find suitable use cases. Not everything needs to be forced into a NounishDAO structure.
Rushing to start a DAO only to abandon it feels wasteful, impulsive, and leaves too many unfinished projects behind.
