An unpretentious place to talk about curating and exhibitions. Share what you're curating, best practices, challenges, your favourite exhibitions & more. Hosted by & .

this feels stupid

if you gonna exhibit art but you place a barrier between the art and the viewer then better just leave the artworks at the storage

replyoors, wadda u think??
long time coming, but everyone should be able to cast and reply in the /curation channel now. let me know if that's not the case!

can't wait to see your posts on your favourite exhibitions, curators & curations. 🥰

Yesterday, I visit the Power Station of Art - a contemporary art museum in Shanghai. It is an amazing art space. There was a monograph exhibition of Yin Xiuzhen. She works with the idea that the sky can collapse. So she made a patchwork sky. This is the main artwork. But there was plenty of other interesting works.

The exhibition “Brasília, the art of the plateau” is running at the National Museum of the Republic, Brasilia/Brazil until November 24, 2024. I'm delighted to be taking part with the work “Other sectors for Brasilia” by Poro (Brígida Campbell + Marcelo Terça-Nada).
In 2023, we had an exhibition thanks to @artcrush in Amsterdam.

This artwork served as the starting point for the Anihimale Dreams collection, and we dedicated time to creating 90 sculpted 3D landscapes to express our childhood dreams. You will learn more about this artistic project on Saturday during the AMA with @bigdegenenergy.eth

i have been thinking about the phrase 'kill your darlings' (typically in relation to writing) and what it means for the larger non-written 'artworld.'

here is what i came up w/: you kill your darlings when you decide to get rid of an unnecessary [person], [idea], or [trend] in a piece of [art] or [art movement]—elements you may have worked hard to create but that must be removed for the sake of [art] & [the scene]..." - [remixed]

perhaps a thought that those in curation w/ its editing find resonates, too?
I have just collected "Posture" by @mowna XKPЯX on @objktcom
🥷🏼📸 Yesterday, I checked out LOVE CITY, an exhibition about romance in the subway painting community.

Pretty cool how love + graffiti can create such an underground story.

Super glad I caught it! 🥷🏼🚆✨—

💓 ty @benna for keeping it open
channel changes have taken place.

in the interest of keeping this channel as open as possible, i've just gone through and invited anyone i know, my friends, and anyone who works in art, is art-adjacent, or is interested in art to be a member of /curation.

if i've missed you, please comment & let me or @omlet know!

as i'm sure you've heard, channels are changing tomorrow. what does this mean for /curation?

as of now, i strongly believe the /curation channel should be open to whoever would like to post about an exhibition they've attended, share essays and resources on curating, or even seek advice and exchange ideas with other curators.

i have temporarily removed moderation on the channel so that anyone who has casted and appeared in the 'main feed' will automatically become members.
