t-3 days till i get my first urushi pen
coincidentally a maki-e pen too, Sailor (japanese pen brand) released their Ninja series recently
the collection includes Gojoh 五常, In 印, Oshiro お城, and Tsuki 月

still involves urushi but combined with a different technique “Togidashi-Maki-e” where the design is drawn with colored lacquer onto the surface of lots of urushi polishing

keeping the urushi streak going with the Sailor King of Pens - Murasaki Tamenuri

correction: the Pilot Custom 845 is on my wishlist instead because i found out that the Custom Urushi is HUGE
they're both made out of ebonite with urushi lacquer, main diff are the body and nib sizes
pictured next to an M1000 (Pelikan's biggest pen) the 845 is similar in size but the Custom Urushi is a chonker

finally got a pilot capless (vanishing point) after years of seeing everyone have one + gouletpens videos
the experience is on par with the hype unless:
- you don’t like small nibs
- you prefer more flex
- you don’t like converter filling
otherwise the clicking mechanism is (surprisingly) a lifestyle upgrade

very glad kaweco decided to (re?)release the sport piston filler
it's nothing like the vintage sport piston (right pic) tho since this release is based on the modern large specs
