Here are 10 hard decisions Magic Eden has made that ended up being the right thing to do:
- going cross chain early (many people clowned us)
- launching Bitcoin Ordinals + Runes
- resisting the urge to build a product purely catering to pro traders
- launching Magic Eden Wallet 9 months ago
- going to ETH multiple times before we were successful, ie not giving up
- choosing NOT to fill a role vs hiring the wrong fit
- not rushing to adopt a token before our team was ready
- spending 1+ year focusing on feedback culture + quality of execution vs aping into new ideas
- re-orging our team to have both chain and functional teams (ie, finance, ops)
- Internationalizing our platform
In retrospect, every hard decision has ended up being a major company defining decision. There are many more decisions I didn't even list. Our life isn't necessarily easy, but it would've been much harder if we didn't take make these calls."
