This marketplace chart in @li's newest post helped me clarify my thinking on /megapot's positioning:
We're in the "most disruptive" quadrant - new supply, newish demand.
New supply:
- Previously, only nation states / governments could coordinate $100M for mega jackpots.
- Our protocol, and blockchain generally, can coordinate all DeFi LPs to contribute to a system to earn casino-level rake
- Supply is also where you go to play. Previously it was convenience stores and gas stations. Now, it's allowing a Telegram bot, a Farcaster frame, etc. all built permissionlessly on top of our protocol
Newish demand:
- Previously you had to go in-person to play government lotteries. Online jackpots are small in comparison.
- Now anyone with an internet connection, no matter where they are, can play a mega jackpot
