First long run since the IM. My base level of fitness for running got cooked in just 2 weeks! 😭

HR was above 160 the whole time, really had to dig deep
We're back running again!!! Check engine lights are off!! (but still flickering 🤣)
Will be running 27mi for my 27th this month (Oct 17)!! Also my first attempt at a marathon

Haven't run at all the last two weeks w some leg pains from the IM so we'll see how this goes 😅
Now how does one stay in decent IM70.3 shape while reclaiming time for other things 🤔

Hoping to strike some balance with a lower but consistent weekly load and ramp up ~3mo out from the next race

3 days of rest felt like an eternity!! Felt really good to swim/bike today.

Crushed my 5k PB by a minute - 20:38!! Had a rough gameplan this time around & successfully ran a negative split

Leaving off the glory of sub 20 post ironman when my body doesn't feel like it's on the verge of falling apart 😅

Low volume week due to travel (I likely needed the rest). Excited to be back in nyc and get after it these last couple of weeks!!!

Praying the hip flexor tightness goes away with some rest, has been bothering me all week 🙏🏽
Disappointed and a little embarrassed it feels like my fitness peaked end of May and has been a slow grind back to that point

Doing a brick workout today (7 mile slow run / 90 min cycle) and it feels like its taking “too” much will power to get the 2nd leg of the workout going, versus effortlessly flowing into the 2nd workout and using willpower when I’m gassed
