haven't been able to mix much strength training with all the endurance
committed to 100 pushups a day (~2wks) in and it feels good!

First long run since the IM. My base level of fitness for running got cooked in just 2 weeks! 😭
HR was above 160 the whole time, really had to dig deep

It's been a while since I said "Wow" out loud when testing a dev tool. Supersim (https://github.com/ethereum-optimism/supersim )did that for me
Props to @fahimsach for the pointer!

Now how does one stay in decent IM70.3 shape while reclaiming time for other things 🤔
Hoping to strike some balance with a lower but consistent weekly load and ramp up ~3mo out from the next race

What a journey this was with a lot of unexpected twists doing the IM 70.3 with @zain
Very grateful to finish considering a flat tire I could not fix alone in the cold.
I had a sub 6hr goal that I couldn't meet but that'll just make the next race feel that much better 🫡 💪🏾

Amazing framework for dealing with tough challenges. Especially one that can have uncontrollable external factors (BAD WEATHER).

Wrapped up my first Iron Man 70.3 with @hamdi this past weekend.
tl;dr: I came up short in my first Ironman 70.3, earning a DNF (Did Not Finish) during the bike portion of the race. Three hours and 23 minutes in, with less than eight miles to go, the local police pulled me over as they opened traffic back up. I was under the impression I had 4 hours and 30 minutes for the bike—standard for 70.3 races—so I paced myself accordingly, keeping an average heart rate of 110, saving my energy for the run, where I felt strongest. Complaining won’t undo the DNF, but I won’t ignore that I put myself in this position.

Reminder to foam roll and stretch!! My left calf pain i'm sure is due to tightness all over my leg from high load. so bad i've been slightly limping the last week
Just had the most excruciating massage that's already helped a ton 😭

For the runners here -- has anyone's appetite for soda dramatically increased with mileage? Relatively new to the sport and I'm easily craving 2/3 cans of coke a day or with every meal lol
Used to hate drinking soda!

Low volume week due to travel (I likely needed the rest). Excited to be back in nyc and get after it these last couple of weeks!!!
Praying the hip flexor tightness goes away with some rest, has been bothering me all week 🙏🏽

My fav part ironman training so far is wanting to tap out after the first track lap, 100yds of swimming, or 5mi on the bike then moving into the acceptance stage and getting comfortable being uncomfortable
Toughest track workout I did so far!! 10mi total, with sprint laps and hard mile intervals.
First time I made sure to refuel throughout the session and my legs feel completely fine and no post-run crash -- Game changer!!
