I think this is a reasonable first pass approx but it's WAYYY more nuanced imo (yep I'm quotecasting in /quotecastguys lol). I have so much to say about this if there's interest..
But for now I'll just say something I was gonna cast sometime this week that freakishly has the same format as Ted's cast:
I've been noticing (studying as an experiment really) how different folks respond to their replies vs quotecasts, after normalizing for the actual content. Like there's some who will like a reply but won't like the same thing as a quotecast. My developing hypothesis has been that the size of the gap in their response to each is the degree of their ego and/or insecurity. Really fascinating stuff to notice just from an academic pov haha
I think this is a far far better proxy for ego than people who quotecast instead of reply
I say all this as a big quotecaster and also as a huge reply guy. I love them both equally, I don't know my ratio, but the reply guy > quotecast guy psyop on here is too unfairly lopsided
