Among the 100 largest crypto tokens by market cap, 19 have outperformed bitcoin’s performance so far this year — and most of them are meme coins, according to data from CoinMarketCap.
The meme-coin sector also saw the highest number of new token listings in the third quarter, per CoinMarketCap data.
By contrast, some sectors in crypto that were popular in previous cycles — such as real-world assets that were tokenized — have not gained much traction in the current cycle, noted Alice Liu, research lead at CoinMarketCap.
Instead, crypto investors have been chasing two opposite ends of the risk spectrum in digital assets, Liu said in a phone interview — namely, bitcoin and meme coins.
“We have bitcoin dominance high as, with a lot of sideways price action in the market, investors want to go into something that they can hold long term,” Liu said.

Degen was listed on the Stock exchange after that price is down but i up soon, some holder are sell & market maker are not buying also degen supporter.
