Has anyone used this serum before? I’m looking for honest reviews — don’t want to risk a bad reaction on my skin.
So the brand Laneige and their lip creams seem to be the exception to the “don’t buy Korean in Japan” rule and this saves you about $5. Not sure if anything larger/heavier would be worth the suitcase room/weight but it goes to show there are always outliers. The exchange rate was better a few weeks ago so this could be a slightly better deal depending on fluctuations.

So reapplying my regular sunscreen isn’t working. It pills because it’s too heavy. So I switched to this Biore Mist and even with the alcohol, I like it. I decanted it into a 10 ml spray bottle for my bag and it’s been great. Except today. It says you can spray it all over, even your hair. Do NOT do this. It’s a hot mess in my hair! It made it sticky and now anything that blows around sticks to my hair! Eww.
Using tretinoin is not for the weak 🥲

❀ DON’T buy Korean skincare here. It’s probably cheaper at home on Amazon. Feel free to do the math but I’ve rarely seen it come out cheaper.
❀ DO take advantage of Tax Free Shopping (over 5500¥) and buy things at the same time
❀ DON’T price shop. Japan is the king of MSRP. Unless something is on sale at a drug store chain, you are better off buying tax free. You probably won’t have the point card you need anyway.
❀ DON’T focus on actives. Japan sucks at this. It’s all about hydration here.
❀ DON’T get caught up in Yen. 1000¥ is $7 so when you see eye cream for that price, it’s a steal. Try it.
❀ DO buy sunscreen. But also oil cleanser. You can’t wash it away like physical sunscreen you are used to at home. You’ve got to use an oil cleanser to emulsify and remove chemical sunscreens. Buy both. They are amazing. BUT most are “office lady” sunscreen meant for a couple of hours of sun.

Mistakes were made. I had on sunscreen. I reapplied it every 2 hours. But I sat in direct sun no clouds and couldn’t use my sun umbrella due to the crowd at the festival.

MUJI cotton is cheap and very cosmetic.
Silcot is good for half the amount of lotion and can be peeled off in half, so it can be used like a face mask.

I finally finished the LuLuLun and I’ve decided they are great morning sheet masks, but they aren’t hydrating enough when the humidity is low to really serve as a night sheet mask. I always get sucked into the limited edition scents for each region and I always hate myself after. Their individually wrapped masks are pretty amazing, but the 7 pack is not.
The SANA wasn’t as hydrating as I hoped. I’m willing to try it again as it warms up but maybe other version. It didn’t have as much essence in the package as other brands at a similar price point.
The essence in the jelly mask is FANTASTIC but it does NOT work as a sheet mask! All the gel clumps to certain parts of the mask. I ended up cutting them up and using them under my eyes and just focusing on the essence. If I could buy it in a jar, I would!!!
