Ham is a little bit of a cult; we have a complicated lore and it can be a lot to take in, but we are silly, fun, and a tight knit group who love to welcome new folks. Don't get our weird jokes? Why do we tip in ham? A clever platypus had a genius idea to get us all to stake our tokens after minting our NFTs . We "baked" hams, they turned golden, and after 45 days we traded them for awesome bonuses. It didn't feel like a traditional staking mechanism...instead a baking mechanism.

Have any dev friends played with this model? How does it compare to @mvr list of people with level 3 spam labels from Warpcast? Would be curious to see the overlap.
On my way to the airport but checked the home feed (the 0 following experiment) and itβs weird. Surfacing lots of old and popular casts plus anyone who is boosted. People really need a heads up about the boosts. 90% of people are wasting this opportunity.
Still canβt figure out why some peopleβs replies pop into my priority feed (level 1 casters?) some are just in mentions, and many donβt get notified at all (maybe level 3 spam labels)

If youβve never tried /recaster, today is the day you should.
They have a channels invitation view on your notifications tab that only shows invites to channels. Sometimes they get lost on Warpcast with announcements. Itβs free, you can schedule casts, and their trending algo is a bit different so you might see some new people or new topics.
Definitely try it if you havenβt!

This cast is purposefully casted only to my home feed. More and more people have a level 3 spam label (the worst one) and may not realize it but Iβm seeing it clearly now that Iβm not following anyone. If you reply to this cast and your reply is in the βShow More Repliesβ bucket, you have a Level 3 Spam Label. The easiest way to see this is to copy the cast using the button on the right into an incognito window and check where your reply is.
If you have one, there is no way out except good behavior and hoping the spam algorithm reclassifies you over time. Change your behavior immediately. Only respond to casts in channels. The algorithm thinks you are spammy and you must do everything you can to make it change the way it sees you. Resources to helpful casts in the comments below.

A high level summary of whatβs going on with channels. Remember we are all in this together, hosts are human and probably overwhelmed, and we are in the midst of one of the biggest cultural changes on Warpcast to date. My old behavior: 80% channels, 20% home feed. My new behavior, more like 50:50. If it doesnβt absolutely belong in a community channel for a specific reason, default to home feed.
Do yourself a favor and have an Apple Note/Google Doc/Post It Note with some pre-written casts in case you get boosted (your account is under 10k) because boosts are really popular on the time line right now (my 0 following experiment is making this clear as glass) and most people are not ready for this power nor know how to use it.

The more I refresh the feed, the more itβs showing me my own casts (hilarious) or casts with significant engagement. Not seeing a single thing without 10+ likes or comments.
Cannot for the life of me figure out why some replies are in priority, some are just in mentions, and some are not giving me notifications at all.
Testing casting in channels and only in my home feed to see if they changes what notifications pop up.

First impressions.
My feed is not empty at all.
At first, it was really confused and was mainly showing me accounts who are probably boosted (because I didnβt previously follow any of those people and they are casting in channels Iβm not a member or follower of). But after an hour, itβs now showing me myself, and what I assume are boosted accounts, but from channels I follow (because I recognize the channels but not most of the people itβs highlighting).
I wish there was a Dune query for boosts so this was data over intuition.

In case you missed the alpha on /earlymorningcrew, I no longer understand my home feed algorithm and I learn best by doing. Iβm about to finish clearing out 80% of the channels follow and unfollow everyone. I want to see what the algorithm shows me when I follow zero people. Wish me luck and stay tuned for the experiment!
