WriteOnchain

/writeonchain40

This is a channel for everyone who writes and publishes on-chain, and for everyone who wants to support on-chain writing - by reading or helping to build better solutions for writing on-chain!

Is "writing in/on social media" (onchain) still writing onchain?

I think it is... and although AVX x X = more exes than George Strait has in Texas... I think it's got potential... so, join me, follow me, grab a 🎟️ and hang on for the ride!

(will follow everyone back, of course!)
Congratulations to @papa @joylius @dirthippy @mkkstacks and @danielmcglynn and - "Team Papa" is still in the running for the $2500 USDC "consistency prize" (if we each get our weekly submissions in) - so far, I think we're all 2-for-2 - please drop a comment with links to your submissions - let's make a point to read/❤️/comment on each other's work so that we improve our chances to win some of the other prizes, too!
OK, fellow Write-Casters!

I've participated in Seasons 1 and 2 (picked up some pretty nice prize money) - is anyone interested in joining me for Season 3?

As the proverb says, "If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together!"
Hey, @thecurioushermit - I wanted to connect you to my friend @Rakshita for a couple of reasons:

1. I'd been meaning to do so re: our conversation about publishing in Web3 - her /covenclassics project is really interesting and I think it might hold an answer...

2. She's trying to figure out "how to get started with Moxie," and you're someone who seems to understand it better than many - I know some, but haven't put much in writing yet and am very busy IRL this afternoon, so hoping maybe you could give her some pointers!
Just wanted to share this great read, thank @thecurioushermit for writing it and @reidtandy for bringing into my feed...

Gwynne, I think you'd enjoying connecting with @danicaswanson and her /slowcore-hq channel and the folks you might meet there!

This essay is well worth reading and I look forward to engaging with it in a more thoughtful way as soon as I get through my current big editing project!

A good thing for everyone to know. I think Heinlein would approve!
Dear fellow writers / copyeditors: Looking for anyone interested in turning some links into Chicago-style endnotes.

Deadline is 07/15/24, but faster = better

Thanks, and if this isn't your specialty, please share by quoting / commenting with an @ if you know someone else who might be interested - helpful sharing will be appreciated and rewarded!
Wise words from @astralbloom for all those writing onchain and off!
Me to @vagobond : "Are you trying to start an apocalypse? Because that's how you get apocalypses!"

Also me : "It's OK, I'm ready."
By the way, everyone has until July 9th to submit their work to this contest hosted by LENS x t2 x @kiwi - a big THANK YOU to @macbudkowski for putting this one on my radar.

What are you writing onchain today?

I just cross-posted on t2 and Paragraph - an essay explaining a philosophy that should guide our creation and iteration of platforms, protocols, tokens and tipping systems. Would love to hear your thoughts - comments & shares of this post will earn $1000 FARTHER as a participation reward https://app.t2.world/article/cly8ncf1k72951820mct0gme49g
Poetry is a form of onchain writing that lends itself well to the current state of the art in NFTs, and @wordstobepoetry excels at this evolving literary form!
A great read from an awesome writer! Highly recommend reading the full essay!
Fellow writers... and anyone else seeing this post - I got my Moxie Pass!

Mint yours to be eligible for upcoming airdrops, grants, Fan Tokens and more! cc @betashop.eth @airstack.eth
There is nothing to be embarrassed about in this interesting article!

I agree that there's a problem - and while I don't agree that adding more "watchmen" to the equation is the solution (because who watches the watchmen who are watching the watchmen and why are they all men?) - @balazsbezi.eth has written a piece which encourages thinking and writing on the topic!

Well worth reading, IMO!
"I consider it my mission to encourage people to read and visit libraries and their local bookstores."

⬆️ A great quote from an excellent essay by @naomiii

Readers are such an important (and under-appreciated) part of the writing ecosystem - and I really love the sentiments she expresses in this piece. Well worth reading / collecting!

Writers, comment with your current work(s) in progress.

I'll rain 50 $DEGEN on the answers!
Here's another interesting opportunity for writers!
This is a good tool - just tried it and I'd recommend it as a way to find more accounts whose interests align with yours!
gm, fellow authors...

What's a big win that you've had as a writer lately?

Mine was finally securing a great mentor to write the foreword for my latest book that's scheduled for publication next March.
Thanks, Ashwini!

Hoping to create a forum to share our work, recommend opportunities, find collaborators and new platforms, support our fellow writers/poets/readers, and discuss the technical elements needed to help make on-chain writing more functional (i.e., you can publish a novel as an NFT, but if you look at it in a VR gallery, you'll only see the cover art) - but those are just my ideas - and none of us is as smart as all of us!

What do YOU think?
Re-casting in case anyone NOT already registered for this is interested...

I'm not sure if @adrienne still has space available for the in-person/online groups, but if you're passionate about the topic, it can't hurt to ask - or to connect with everyone in /writinghackathon
It took me a 🔥 minute, @statuette, but I've made a home for those of us who read, write and publish on-chain!

Please send your reading/writing/publishing frens this way!
