building a loyal following on the internet requires consistency and equally as important: authenticity.

people are not easily fooled. seems like our social network needs proof of work.

/uno now supports channels for stories!

- share a public story to a channel you're a member of on Warpcast
- long term vision is adding your content to generative communities
- if you're not a member of the channel, it'll get hidden on Warpcast, but still labeled on Uno.

still implementing simple onboarding, but hoping to be closed beta ready soon πŸ™

alright maybe refactoring the entire auth flow was an undersized project..
testing @pwndao's frame for P2P, undercollateralized lending with my friend @pedrowww.

simple POC, fund my proposal to help me test. i am the one that took out the loan (and will pay back, i promise lol)

we’re almost a week out from channel changes, and i think overall things are net OK. almost net positive!

it hasn’t been perfect. too much change for any product refactor will drag down user experience. tonight i watched a less followed user get β€œstuck” β€” they couldn’t post into a channel, they didn’t qualify for that channel’s requirements in modbot, and they didn’t know what to do next.

so they gave up. and their small effort to contribute was labeled as automatically removed :/ that’s a vicious cycle down for content creation and engagement.

things are net OK because i can sense that these changes are consequential and increase perceived value over what used to be hashtag bikeshedding. the changes are also stable, users are (slowly) reeducating friends, and there are more safe spaces. net OK, but net great yet.

anyways back to work..

my first boss in tech told me my job is not code but to get people to move in the same direction as fast as possible. it's hard work.

she also said convincing Europeans would be 100x harder. they love consensus and give "silent no's" β€” i ended up having to lobby every dang engineer i met to use TypeScript in 2017..
