Minted my first Dune Dashboard NFT!

One of the biggest shifts in NFTs is that Ethereum mainnet is down to creating to only 0.5% of all new collections in August

Layer 2s are now in control with Base leading the way with ~67% of new collections and Zora in second with 29.4%

What are some under the radar trends happening in NFTs? A few that I can think of:

- More NFT trading volume is happening outside of Ethereum
-NFTs are getting more liquid (Zora, ERC404s,etc.)
-New utilities (Blackbird NFTs, Helium Mobile Subscriber, etc.)

What else?

What are the most novel and interesting new things happening in the NFT space?

In times of chaos, DEXs thrive

Yesterday was the 3rd highest day for DEX volume with over $20.2B in trading volume.

The only other days to surpass this were the SVB Bank Run ($23.1B) and the 2021 May Flash Crash ($22.8B)

Onchain data is cool, but I also like to compare web traffic as another way to measure usage. In June, the top crypto apps were:

1) Dexscreener - 26.9M
2) Pump Fun - 8.46M
3) Uniswap - 4.5M
4) Jupiter - 4.6M
5) Polymarket - 1.4M

Yet the top site was Coinmarket Cap with 88.8M

Signifcant L2 Adoption Milestone:

During the week of 7/8/24, L2s accounted for 50.4% of total DEX volumes, surpassing Ethereum in volume for the first time.

The rise of Base has been a major driver becoming the largest chain by DEX Txs with ~57% of the total ETH/L2 market share

Really cool frame! Would be awesome to be able to mint NFTs based on your onchain behaviors similar to Spotify Wrapped.

Ever wonder what the most expensive fee on Ethereum was?

This simple transfer of .55 ETH (~$136 at the time) had a whopping 10,668 ETH transaction fee attached to it, costing $2.6M.

If they did not send this transfer, the owner would now be holding over $41M 😵‍💫

Today I learned that after close to four years people are still claiming the Uniswap Airdrop.

In 2024, 251 addresses have still claimed over 100k of UNI this year (~$929k)

Excited to see the emergence of dataDAOs like rdatadao which has already had over 137k addresses claim the $rDAT

DataDAOs represent a win-win for data collection:

-Businesses can collect hard-to-come-by / niche datasets

-Users are compensated & incentivized for their data

Zora Network seeing a huge spike in transactions today 👀

The number of new tokens appearing on DEXs hit an all-time high the week of 3/11.

What is even more interesting is the shift in new tokens launching on Ethereum & BNB to Solana & Base indicating a shift in where attention is happening for this current cycle

Something that would be really interesting to create: a labelled training dataset for Farcaster Casts / FIDs for supervised ML. Two possible use cases this could address:

-Detecting Spam
-Measuring qDAUs

Probably a lot fun side projects could leverage this dataset!

With frame transactions live, I created a Dune dashboard to track what’s happening with frames onchain.

Frames transactions have generated 4K+ transactions and been used by 3.3k+ addresses within the first few hours.
