ETH/BTC Ratio Lowest Since April 2021… Why Bitcoin Dominance Is Rising
Amid the recent uptrend in Bitcoin Dominance, the weakness of Ethereum against Bitcoin has been pointed out as one of the main factors behind the rise in Bitcoin Dominance.
The Ethereum/Bitcoin ratio is currently around 0.03850, the lowest level since April 2021, according to CoinDesk on the 16th (local time). On the contrary, Bitcoin Dominance was 58.91% based on trading-view data, the highest since April 2021.
The glass node chart shows that the ETH/BTC ratio has continued to make lower lows since the cycle low in June 2022. In the previous cycles, 2016-2019 and 2019-2022, the ETH/BTC ratio had at least a 200% rise from the cycle low, but this cycle is 25% lower than the June 2022 low. This indicates that Ethereum has been sluggish against Bitcoin.
Ethereum has posted monthly performances exceeding Bitcoin for just seven of the last 23 months, with the most recent excess performance recorded in May 2024.
