Found a really cool resource on Linux basics for beginners. The whole point is that the material is presented in the form of mini-courses, which contain lessons with tasks. If you start solving problems, the service will check your answers automatically. Many topics are available for study:
➡ Command line;
➡ Working with text;
➡ User management;
➡ Process management;
➡ File system;
➡ Linux kernel;
➡ Logging;
➡ Networks and more...

These lists almost never change. Unlike Windows which steadily gets worse, Linux Distros mature and get better with development. Many of our favorites still top these lists because they are a polished experience that are well maintained.

I have been really loving Cosmic Desktop by PopOS!. Its still in Alpha 4 but very stable. Written in Rust its fast, minimal and has great tiling. Turns out I love tiling window managers.
Why does, almost every linux distro/desktop ship with Firefox as the default browser instead of Brave of Chromium? Is its Firefox's long term commitment to open source or is there some funding available for projects that do?
I hadn't checked in since Alpha 1 but Cosmic Desktop Alpha 4 is pretty great.
A good balance of minimalism, customization and speed.

Spent half a day fixing my Linux gui, which decided to randomly stop working. Turned out it was just a fuck up in dot profile. Love it 🤣

Linux, NVIDIA, an external monitor.

decided to give linux a go as my daily cos my laptop was starting to sound like a jet engine on windows - running cachy os on arch linux
what browser are we using? gave vivaldi a go but not a huge fan, cachy browser is nice but firefox based which makes me kinda ugh and i'm trying thorium out now
but before i go logging back in to a million websites for the umpteenth time and redownloading extensions - is there anything better?

Yesterday I migrated from Ubuntu to Pop!_OS to try something different out.
No regrets so far!! Compatibility with Steam has greatly improved (all MGSs work now!) and having an encrypted disk feels so much better for peace of mind.
Highly recommended! Can't wait for the #system76 #COSMIC desktop environment :)

I built a single-host configuration management tool awhile back and am trying to decide if it's worth shaping up into an open-source release. I think it hits a sweet spot between learning curve/complexity of Ansible etc., and the brittleness of sh scripts. That scratch anyone's itch?
there’s no feeling like erasing everything and starting fresh without looking back

Got my Linux Mint distro all installed and customized! 🎉
Liking the experience of using it so far; had a few issues with the GPU that took some time to fix, but aside from that, it's simple, slick, lightweight, and easy to use.
Also it doesn't spy on me or steal my data!
Bye bye Windows.

Looking to upgrade my old system76 Oryx Pro to the system76 lemur pro or the Framework laptop 13.
Anyone use one of these? Leaning towards the framework for upgradeability but wished it was 14” instead of 13”
