A place to discuss all things *nix

Out of only these two options, would you rather use Gnome or Cosmic? Why?
is it a right way to switch to linux from windows?
If you've been having a trouble with Wayland and KVMs on Linux, I published a short article about my solution to this problem earlier today.

TL;DR: ditched Wayland, back to Xorg. 💀

niche cast: I like the way notifications stack on Gnome 48.0. First morning using 48.
Arch users are like "if you didn't solder your own transistors then you aren't doing it right!"

1 month since using Arch and no issues, it runs quite well actually.
I spoke some days with Gemini 2.5 to find out which system would be the most secure while still being usable:

For a user seeking a highly stable, reproducible, and secure Linux desktop system, the combination of NixOS (for the base system) + Flatpak (for desktop apps) + Wasmer (for Wasm workloads) represents a state-of-the-art approach. It intelligently combines the unique strengths of these powerful technologies to create a robust and layered environment. It's likely the closest you can get to an ideal blend of system management rigor and application runtime security today.
Any good guitarix settings? My tone always sounds horrible.
They are using Ubuntu in the hospital.
Not sure if feeling happy or sad for them 😂

gm from Linux !

I finally took the step, and I love it so far.
daughter did something that borked my nvidia drivers on my debian pc. I took the opportunity to install arch. I guess I'm an arch user now, by the way
Debian became "woke" apparently. /s

***this is not racism no matter how much you want it to be***

Look up affinity bias and why we need explicit policies for PoCs and others who are discriminated against.

I've been playing around with i3wm and awesome lately. I'm loving the minimalism and DIY aspect of window managers.
