/metis has upgraded and is now the cheapest L2 chain!
The best thing is the new recalibrated gas pricing using the formula:
gasPrice = 50 / METIS price in USD
This ensures consistent dollar-stable cheap gas cost for all users.
Also the block size has increased the gas limit from 25M to a whopping 1.1B
