The Spacemesh network is under growing strain due to the rapidly increasing number of miners. Read these two articles to understand what we're doing about this today and what we might choose to do longer term. First, an article we just published in the company blog https://x.com/teamspacemesh/status/1797556144665206954
This is the direction we're going with the #athenavm and it's kind of a big deal. Writing a bunch on it this week, more soon.

Just concluded a very intense week of research with the research team. I originally intended to post updates here throughout the week but between research and fighting jet lag there really wasn’t a chance 😅 Working on some summary notes now, more soon! ✌️

En route to meet the team in Europe for our research summit. Sorry for the lack of Spacemesh updates. Long trip! More soon!
Had a good internal debate about decentralization today. Seems to be the topic du jour. There's a debate in the Spacemesh community (on Discord, see https://chat.spacemesh.io) about pools: what to do about them, whether and to what extent they represent a problem or a threat...
I'll do my best to post at least one daily update here.

Had a great chat with the research team about candidate VM designs, tradeoffs, and some nitty gritty details like proving and verification complexity for various ZK constructions.

Created this channel and shared it with the community and the team.
Just created /spacemesh. Seems like a good place to share updates and talk about Spacemesh more generally. There's a lot less noise here than on other social media apps that shall remain unnamed!
