A tree shaken by the wind? In Isaiah 7, the heart of the people of Judah shook like trees shake before the wind. The larger nations surrounding Judah had formed an alliance to conquer it. But the Lord said to Judah then, and says to Taiwan now: be careful, be quiet, do not fear, and do not let your heart be faint. It shall not stand, and it shall not come to pass. If you are not firm in faith, you will not be firm at all. Taiwan shall stand firm, shall stand tall. Shall rise up on wings like eagles and soar above the clouds, above all turmoil and threats of destruction. This nation is strong and mighty, and it shall prevail. So be strong and courageous, Taiwan. The Lord your God is with you.
