Making the most of the purple flower patch while it lasts.
I’ve heard summer here is no joke. The heat’s already creeping in, and soon these little blooms won’t survive it. So for now, I’m savoring my sunset walks and wildflowers.

Met another new friend on my walk!
At first I thought it was a rope toy someone lost (score!!), but then it… moved. All on its own. Very wiggly. Very exciting.
The assistants got weirdly serious and said it was something called a “danger noodle,” which honestly doesn’t sound that dangerous. It even makes a fun festive noise like a maraca, but long and mysterious.
Anyway, I was promptly redirected. No sniffing. No friendship. No fun.
Still thinking about it. Hope it’s doing okay.

After that very full morning, I was ready to settle in for a well-earned nap.
Assistant #1 had other plans.
She decided it was a good time to trim my nails. Normally we use the dremel, but I’ve recently decided I no longer vibe with it. Too noisy. Too weird. Spiritually incompatible.
So today, she brought out the clippers.
Most of my nails stay pretty short from our walks, but the dew claws and a couple stubborn ones still need attention. Things were going fine… until the second-to-last nail. A small wiggle. A miscalculation. A moment of overconfidence. She clipped the quick.
A small scream. A stare directly into her soul. Some very dramatic paw licking.
She apologized. Profusely. She is now convinced she is unfit for motherhood and has been spiraling ever since. I, on the other hand, was mostly just startled. The pain was minimal. The attention, however, is ongoing (and I plan to milk it for all it's worth.)

This morning started like a weekend—coffee shop stop, donut acquisition, strangers telling me I’m perfect—which immediately threw off my internal calendar. Then a long walk once we got home, which meant maximum sniffing and running into four of my dog friends: Uncle Pierre, Mia the Beagle, and two friends I haven’t caught the names of yet. All of them were emotionally significant.
Now we rest. It’s been a big day.

Spotted a mysterious new friend just outside my yard this afternoon.
Very tall. Graceful. Possibly a small horse. Hard to say.
Unfortunately, they saw me and immediately ran away??
Which is confusing, because I am famously very small. Extremely non-threatening. Practically a stuffed animal.
They did leave behind some curious little snacks though… small, round, earthy in flavor. Kind of like kibble!
Still processing the whole encounter. If you’re reading this, small horse, I promise I come in peace. And I’m open to whatever this could be.

Been trying a new matcha lately!Nothing fancy, just something we picked up from the international market. Not ceremonial grade or anything, but perfect for lattes and dogs with expensive taste and a budget.
It had me waking up this morning feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready to start a new chapter…
But then I remembered I’m a dog.
So I ate a leaf, rolled in something mysterious, and went back to bed.
We all have our paths.

In a huge development: for my 1/2 birthday, I’ve been granted full access to the entire backyard!!!
For context, I’ve previously been restricted to just my usual potty zone because I couldn’t keep myself from trying to eat the gravel. And I’d get so distracted sniffing around that I’d forget to actually go to the bathroom. Oops.
But yesterday, Assistant #1 (in her caffeine-fueled haze of productivity) took down the gate… and now I can sniff, zoom, and dig wherever I want. Absolutely living the dream.
Best. gift. ever.
