New post: Cutting Corners - How a paper cutter saved my flowers (and my day)

Sometimes, the tool you need to solve your problem might already be sitting on the table right in front of you...

New post: Getting roasted by college students on responsible AI

Yesterday I went back to my Alma Mater to teach a 2-hour interactive lab with a mix of journalism, design, and engineering students

I was very impressed with the rigor and astute nature of the questions they asked me during the session.

So I decided to share out some of their tough questions to me on my blog, along with a few things that got me thinking

New post: Muppet-Making for Grown-Ups

Last week I attended a lunch-and-learn event with an unusual prompt... in addition to salads on the table for everyone, they also offered art supplies to "make our own muppet."

It was a ton of fun to watch a bunch of adults slowly transition from "stuffy professionals" into "playful school kids."

Here's what I learned in watching it all play out, why us grown-ups sometimes need a little extra nudge to work creatively, and why I think we need more of this energy right now than ever

Lately I’ve gotten to know a team in NYC that sets up hydroponics in classrooms. At a recent event they gave away mini hydroponics for the home. My kids love them!

New post: Defining AI-shaped problems

Interestingly one of the things I've noticed about our natural tendency to introduce AI to our workflow is that the questions we are starting out asking are either too technical (how does it work? what can it do?) or too broad (how can this change the way we do our entire business?)

As we are starting to introduce AI fluency into teams an organizations, we're noticing that this might start first with figuring out how to optimize your personal workflows, then your team workflows, and ultimately the more complex and complicated one -- your end user systems or workflows

Here, a little more on how I've started scoping smaller, more incremental "AI-shaped" problems (and how it might help you too)

Ok @dwr.eth it's so fun to see how this new channels approach is already spurring some fun creative ideation and differentiation. Excited to introduce our weekly rotating banner in /gardening -- and love seeing this idea "germinate" (haha) right from the channel participants!
New post: Everyone is a Developer: The power of AI in expanding innovation

Last week, in a room full of 40 nonprofit leaders, I watched three people stand up and run live demos of education mini-apps they built themselves.

Some thoughts on how AI is reshaping the very idea of who gets to innovate and what it means to be a developer today…

These black-eyed susans are so lovely they deserve to be our channel cover shot for the next couple of weeks! 🌼🌼🌼

New post: Network Collapse - how to leverage your connections for missed opportunities

Being entrepreneurial means constantly scanning for new opportunities and partnerships…and sometimes things get missed.

But I’ve noticed that with a well-curated network, sometimes the people around you play the role of “catcher” to help you catch opportunities or intros.

I refer to this as “network collapse” and shared a few thoughts on how I’ve seen this work:
