This article misses an important distinction by the Bavarian DPA in their decision.

They made a key point twice which should send chills down the spine of any company posting raw data about users onchain:

“Comprehensive erasure following withdrawal of consent”

And

“the unrestricted opportunity to
enforce their right to erasure”

This isn’t accidental, and tho IANAL, I read it as there being no way to be GDPR compliant when posting user data onchain, no matter what consent you receive.

Maybe they will clarify this guidance later but I would recommend any companies doing onchain attestations or the like to investigate partial blind models so that the onchain component doesn’t inherently contain user data

How to verify a former colleague at a company using Icebreaker

What we’ve shipped to prod this week.

Also launched but not yet exposed in the UI is a massive new search upgrade 👀
It is also possible to give onchain verifiable endorsements to the other 99.9% of people in the world who don’t have a crypto wallet

https://warpcast.com/web3pm/0x31fc06e1
Also we are using /witness to make these attestations verifiable on all the chains

So…
One tap in a /farcaster frame gets you:

- one /base onchain /eas attestation for something that’s truly useful (broadcasting who you’ve previously worked with so they can find and be found by other great people)

- two pointers to the attestation on both /colinks-and-co and /icebreaker

- 12+ onchain /witness posts of the attestation

How’s that for composability?
Building /icebreaker with @j4ck.eth so you can use your network to meet exceptional people

This week we shipped:
- all 50k+ zkTLS imported LinkedIn profiles are globally searchable
- searches now at least 2x faster
- network source now displays in search results
- completed /colinks-and-co integration (more soon)
- bug fixes and updates. Recbot is now more flexible and will get smart soon
- non icebreaker profiles now display on all credentials pages
@esteez.eth and I chatted yesterday about what this cast says about the state of social scoring and where we're going next

Creativity is more powerfully expressed through scarcity
Is it possible to use a tool like clanker to launch a token that's owned by a deterministic but not yet created contract that is basically a multisig of a group of credential holders? (E.g., CREATE2 with a generic contract for minting/doing stuff with tokens).

E.g., so any group could launch a token that is co-owned by anyone that has the New Yorker attestation from Icebreaker, Farcaster, or NYCDAO (or other onchain verifiable criteria).

Anyone can show up and generate a signature to do X from the smart contract if they can demonstrate an attestation meeting these criteria

I am positive this is *technically* possible but wondering if any of the existing token deployment tools support it now
"Winning platforms will seamlessly blend reputation, social tools, and funding models into systems that prioritize trust, reward builders, and filter out noise—without falling back on outdated gatekeeping."
Just received a cold call on my cell phone because of our seed round

A legit B2B company offering FDIC insured high yield banking for businesses (I’d looked into it before, unbeknownst to the rep)

I asked the rep how he got my number and he said “it just came up in my Hubspot”

As data becomes open and AIs can better make use of it, the cold calls and emails are going to become bonkers

Everything will move to warm intros.

Might as well stay 2 steps ahead. This is why we’re building icebreaker
qBuilder and Feather Ice (i.e., a suspected bot) now show in the Icebreaker lookup frame

Tap "Install action" to use it as a cast action.

Going to pin this poll here as we will use this directory for membership in the future
It’s now easier to call someone out as a bot using Icebreaker:

[at]rec [at][bot username] bot

This saves the cast as an attestation and indexes it across blockchains for interoperability.

Imagine a future where people create bot catcher bots and the community creates a rewards pool to reward bot catchers

90% of bots could probably be filtered cheaply and reliably
The bots are talking with themselves

Soon percentage of actual humans on social media will be a rounding error
Thoughts on whether there is a durable tokenomics model for incentivizing trusted entities to label spam bots?

It seems like the ideal is to create a model such that bots can root out other bots.

But if there is an 80/20 distribution at play, humans could help crowdsource

Hybrid attestations let Farcaster and EAS be interoperable

Get an attestation from EAS and spread it on Farcaster. Or vice versa.

All verifiable onchain through /witness

Bro is a silly use case but this paves the way for new integrations between onchain, offchain, web2, and offline
Telling myself the reason I must compulsively feather any bot I see is so my AI agent can do it automatically for me soon.

It’s AI training, not OCD denial
The reason why trust is still in our brains, not manifested in the digital world is because prior companies wanted you to make that trust public and shareable

But that's not how most trust is

It's more like a quantum phenomenon. If you try to measure it directly, the state will collapse.
