It’s been a tough few years for Ethereum on the sentiment side, even as fundamentals have never been stronger.

1. Ethereum can thrive as a network without $ETH accruing value.
2. Rollup-centric roadmap can succeed, but Rollups will eventually claim their independence (Great Britain/Colonies analogy from @hosseeb).
While I don’t fully align to those points, I do think it’s critical to have protocol-level mechanisms that proactively address and mitigate the risks in (1) and (2).
The great thing is that we have solution for this that solves (1) and (2) together:

Ethereum, then becomes an ecosystem where L2s naturally stick to L1, not out of obligation, but because it’s the economically obvious choice.
