I don’t really need to speak much about this, it speaks for itself. However, I will note that it was fun to step away from snowboarding, live in New York City, then work on something from a revised outside lens with these guys I enjoyed as humans and enjoyed watching snowboard even more. Getting to watch them get international TV spotlight doing what THEY do was a great moment for the sport.

What’s the home for (digital) art on @base? Sharing, collecting, earning, exposure, connection. This question needs an answer to exist, and soon.
Firefly is super convenient for authors but removes incentive of using individual platforms. They need to win you. What’s Lens doing? Nothing, except piling pressure on Orb to steal us. A lot of sitting around betting the house on someone to win for you while bragging about AAVE.
Have not met one person of power in web3 willing to openly hear AND implement artist ideas. Not one. Yet.
Who wants to hear my story about Lens Protocol?
it doesn't really help we can still, on april 18 2025, only post 2 images on the only truly functioning blockchain social platform. just saying.. we can't be both not taken seriously by potential incoming creatives and not taken seriously/despised for being related to crypto.. how do we fix this? who needs to hear it?

Tom Thibodeau was the NBA’s last hope at a no-social media policy coach. Truly bonkers there has not been one psychologist step in to lay out the benefits, or consequences of staying the current course.
It’s embarrassing that no one’s been able to create a social media platform that most artists want to be. I wonder why. JK I don’t - nobody wants to listen to artists while also housing strong desires to be the next Mark Zuckerberg. Weird.
I finally figured out Lens' business plan. Here's a breakdown:
How AAVE Can "Theoretically" Apply Office Spacing
Millions of Micro-Transactions
Every action on the platform (likes, posts, follows, tips, comments, mints, etc.) incurs a tiny transaction fee - fractions of a cent - paid in $GHO.
Rounded Fees
Like in Office Space, they could round up or insert a minor spread in the fee structure, skimming a micro-fee from each transaction.

web3 is chock full of the absolute most subpar + tone deaf marketing i've ever experienced in almost 40 years of breaths. the companies - not the artists. pure echo chamber syndrome with zero awareness.

If a platform makes money off artists, and it's in their best interest to make sales which equal money to pay employees, wouldn't it make sense to push each and every piece on the platform even at the bare minimum of likes and retweets?
Imagine what it must have felt like to be the first artist to use paper when paper was invented.

i worked for years with brands, celebs, banks, investors, and foundations. i know how powerful brand marketing is in building trust and community.
and as someone whose family, friends, and daily life don’t touch crypto (despite my best effort), i’m painfully aware of how bad crypto’s brand is.
if you’re thinking “only XYZ is cringe,” hate to break it to you: to most people, there’s no difference between ethereum, solana or base. to them, it’s all just crypto.
no amount of “man on the street” tiktoks, memecoins, or cypherpunk storytelling is going to fix that.
i’ve been in crypto since 2018, and the most consistent thing i’ve seen convert skeptics into believers is simple: trusted humans.
people change their minds when someone they trust shows them something they care about.
maybe i’m wrong, but i still think the best way forward is what’s worked for every other network: good humans onboarding other good humans.
it’s slow until it’s not.

Dear @dwr.eth @jessepollak what do you consider the home for art on @base that will not only get traction (views) via @farcaster casts but also live on a platform that supports artists and has a collector base or other ways to monetize? Does this exist? And if so, why is it the superior choice over others? Thank you.
at this point, when there's an entire coalition of artists here who know exactly how certain people move and communicate (or don't) in this very, very small space, are we going to not believe our fellow artists? (cabal lapdogs excluded)
