In 2023 I saw a woman having an autistic meltdown in a supermarket. Her pain was real—yet all she received were stares of fear and disgust.
That night, I dreamed of a massive fresco: a collective meltdown, hundreds in sensory crisis. It stayed with me.
I had been reading about changelings—children once believed to be swapped by spirits, often because they behaved differently.
Many accused witches may have simply been neurodivergent. This project was born at the intersection of that history, lived experience, and dream.
