With tonight’s win, the Padres have the best record in baseball. If there were other Padres fans on this app, I would savor this with you because you know what we’ve been through.
The Rockies are so bad it’s actually sad. Like the 2024 White Sox but somehow worse.
This is not a serious critique https://raz.sh/blog/2025-05-02_a_critical_look_at_mcp
This is the source of my username and web domain. I took back the concept of mind pollution and made it my own. But shoutout to Captain Planet for having this episode and putting the idea in my head back when I was in elementary school. https://theveryspecialblog.com/2015/09/23/captain-planet-mind-pollution/

If you need a reminder of the progress browser technology has made in 15 years, this site launched in 2010. Read the requirements for it to work and then realize you are most likely running this on a tiny device in your hands with no specialized hardware. https://madebyevan.com/webgl-water/
Snake oil. A lot of business books are snake oil. The best ones I’ve ever read are the ones that tell a story and don’t try to prescribe solutions. Books like:
Behind The Arches (about McDonalds)
That Will Never Work (about Netflix)
Shoe Dog (about Nike)

I’m of two minds about the increased access to private space research. I think more research is better. But as will all the satellites (which are about capitalism, not research), who is going to clean up the junk left behind. We’re going to have a bunch of rovers on the moon https://phys.org/news/2025-05-private-japanese-lunar-lander-orbit.html
It’s a travesty that Montreal doesn’t have a baseball team.
Unless you grew up in San Diego, you likely don’t have the full picture of just how good Tony Gwynn was. Thought of for his bat contact and for hitting singles, he saw where the game was going with velocity and slugging at the end of his career and did this:
“In the last nine years of his career (1993 to 2001), Gwynn had his typical .356 average and .400 on-base percentage, but also a .500 slugging percentage. He averaged 13 homers a season, almost double his previous rate.”

I want so desperately for Farcaster to be a baseball social media destination but the limited pope as a White Sox fan coverage here is disappointing. There’s been a couple of posts to be sure, but on Bluesky, I’ve been laughing all day.
This is the ongoing refrain I hear as more and more people because web developers with the help of AI. It's why

This sums up how I’ve been feeling about server side rendering and specifically Next.js and Vercel really well. https://youtu.be/lLJbHHeFSsE?si=5IVRpqTgUZttQ16q
Who are the biggest IPFS players besides Pinata that run their own infra?
The financial impact seems less like a copyright blunder (which there was one) and more like a contract problem. But maybe I’m missing something. https://screenrant.com/night-living-dead-movie-public-domain-copyright-accident/
This is pretty interesting. Apple has a post-quantum encryption protocol for messaging and this formal review seems to confirm its validity. https://www.usenix.org/system/files/conference/usenixsecurity25/sec25cycle1-prepub-595-linker.pdf
