Hats protoDAO recently completed its first onchain game, with the winner @andyboyan earning a spot on the @rehash pod

The game, a Murder Mystery adventure held the week of Halloween, served two purposes: 1) explore non-skeuomorphic ways for organizations and projects to get things done and build with Hats, and 2) plant the seeds for an eventual Hats “Game Department”

This murder mystery is just the beginning. Hats protoDAO is launching a gaming working group where members are invited to brainstorm, test, and refine different onchain games that utilize Hats

To learn more about this game, what's next for Hats-powered games, and how to get involved, see the post below ⬇️

Tips of the cap to @defi-beats for leading this effort and writing the post, @ecwireless for game design, and @ddwchen for valuable support!

~Make DAOs autonomous again~

Hats puts the Autonomous back into DAOs by automating permissions (like @safe signing authority) based on almost any onchain data. This includes access to workspaces & channels based on token holdings, agreements, subscriptions, election results & more.

For example,

1. /optimismfractal is creating pathways for contributors to "level up" automatically as they get more involved and accrue reputation

2. @clinic onboards new members automatically to private docs and workspaces via a signed onchain agreement

3. /unlock-protocol + 🧢 enables organizations to provide subscription-based access to specific workspaces and comms channels

Learn how in the post below ⬇️

hat tip to @jamesyoung for inspiring the opening of this post
@purple decreased time spent on DAO proposals by 80%

What would your DAO even do with all that extra time?

Here's how /purple, a DAO advancing the /farcaster ecosystem, did it with /hatsprotocol through effective delegation and elected roles

New case study ⬇️

Elections on the mind? We believe in a future of fully onchain elections

Elections that are verifiable, with automatable term limits, where those elected can be held accountable

That future is already here, it's just not evenly distributed 🧢

For example...

1. @purple elected its Security Council, Grants Chair and Revenue Chair roles through transparent onchain elections with /jokerace
2. @premiablue increased protocol security by enabling an elected council of token holders to govern the protocol if multisig signers were corrupted or MIA, using /snapshot
3. @decent enables organizations to appoint roles through DAO governance with built-in compensation using Hats & /sablier, via the Decent app

And it works with all of your favorite voting platforms, including /jokerace /decentdao /tally & /snapshot
Learn how in the post below ⬇️
🔐 DAO-Controlled Multisigs & Signers, enabled by 🧢

Securely grant, revoke, and transfer control of funds and contracts to individuals, committees, & councils

For instance...

1. @purple is granting its Security Council the ability to veto DAO proposals to protect against governance attacks
2. @questbook is securely managing signing authority across four domains for an @arbitrum grants program
3. @treasuredao formed a council with the power to vote on the organization’s behalf in DAO governance

See details on each of these examples here: https://hatsprotocol.xyz/wearer/multisigs

Hats are now being used to power onchain games!🧢

Each team in the @rehash murder mystery game gets access to special docs only they can see

Team leaders ("Detectives") can add new members to their team by minting them the hat

Here's what the onchain structure looks like:
Hats has integrated with @unlock-protocol! You can now set up recurring subscriptions or one-time membership fees for roles, using any ERC20 token you want

Once someone activates a subscription, they'll immediately claim a hat and gain all permissions connected to that role via the hat, such as access to workspaces, communication channels, and voting rights

If the subscription is canceled or expires, access is automatically revoked

When you add a subscription or membership fee to a role, a unique claim page is automatically generated for activation and onboarding ꜜ
elect @hatsprotocol roles via @decentdao that are automatically streamed compensation with @sablier

composability ftw!
