gigantic tree i saw in los angeles over the weekend
📍 mt morrison, colorado
In frame: Storm King Mountain, which rises from the Hudson River, is just north of West Point Military Academy.
1) damn i only ran a 5k and not even that fast and i’m already tired, fml
2) for a long time in my life i couldn’t even run this fast if i tried my hardest, i should be proud of the progress i’ve made
progress is always nonlinear and can often stir up very contrary thoughts like that but all we can do is keep pushing and try to enjoy the process as much as possible

bearish: it’s seemingly still very difficult to build onchain creator monetization tools
bullish: we’ve only just begun to imagine what could be possible with decentralization x ai, the possibilities are limitless and very exciting

Immaculate vibes every time
we had no intention of ever competing in agility trials when we first came here and now toby’s earned his novice agility title AND his open agility title and is competing at the masters/excellent level 🏅
bittersweet to be leaving here where we learned so much but we’ve already found a new agility coach we feel good about in our new location and we’re excited to start trialing again once we’re back from all our travels in the spring!

prior to starting /rehash in april 2022 i had recorded 150+ podcast episodes on crypto topics for other projects i was working on at the time
but each time i left the company i no longer owned the podcast or any of the content i had worked so hard to create there
the podcast i had conceptualized, launched, recorded, and produced for over 100 episodes suddenly had a new hire’s name listed under it, and i had to start over from scratch
i did this a couple of times before finally deciding to go off on my own — a scary but worthwhile endeavor as all any creator wants at the end of the day is to own their own content (and be able to monetize it ofc)
i asked about how she got into starting /rehash and she said something along the lines of “i realized i didn’t really *own* what i was [previously] creating”.
***that’s not the exact quote, but the general idea btw lol***
i kid you not, i srsly cannot stop thinking about that!!! lately i have been pondering a lot lately on how i would love to get back to creating for myself again + truly *owning* what i want to create.

anyone else experiencing the same thing / have any tips?

i'm sorry but why would an insurance agent know more about what's medically necessary for my health than my medical doctor would??
btw i'm not even on a super cheap health insurance, i'm on a more "premium" one that i'm paying almost $10k/year for
but yea, america
