i invited the legendary duo Altern 8 as part of my radio show Hyper Rave by @hyperbass now we have been uploading all the episodes to @sound-xyz for on chain preservation under @base chain

this is a huge milestone because these episodes were aired back in 2020 but the radio station where this was out is defunct, Altern 8 are godfathers of modern electronic music, they started creating music in 1988, for me these guys are just like the Kraftwerk of rave music

Sound.xyz: Redefining the Future of Music with Web3
The music industry is undergoing a radical transformation with digitalisation. However, streaming platforms and traditional distribution models make it difficult for artists to make a fair profit. This is where Sound.xyz is starting a revolution with blockchain technology and NFTs that will change the value of music in favour of artists.

Sound.xyz was founded in 2021 with the mission to ‘honour the value of music’. The platform aims to bring artists' works directly to fans by converting them into NFTs. Royalty revenues, which are lost in the traditional model, turn in favour of artists here: Regular income is generated from NFT sales and secondary market transactions.

How does it work?

Artists press their tracks as limited edition NFTs (usually 25-100 units).

Each NFT contains metadata that personalises the listening experience: Artist notes, collector's comments and even surprises such as the hidden ‘Golden Egg’.
