Word on the street is that Brandon Lutnick (Commerce Sec’s son) is teaming up with SoftBank, Tether, and Bitfinex to form a $3 billion Bitcoin acquisition JV called 21 Capital. Tether’s putting in $1.5 billion, SoftBank $900 million, and Bitfinex $600 million.
On one hand, this looks insanely bullish—massive players locking in huge BTC allocations means serious buy pressure ahead. Institutional confidence doesn’t get louder than Tether and SoftBank backing a single platform
On the other hand, you’ve got to wonder if this concentration of powerand the potential for rapid, coordinated buying or selling—could stir up volatility. When a few wallets control billions, it can swing the market hard in either direction.
