GASTROGRADE by outerlumen
GASTROGRADE is an animated homage to the dynamism hidden in the static, the vibrancy in the ostensibly inert. Inspired by Fanny Churberg's “Vegetable and Fish Still Life”, this piece takes the concept of 'playing with your food' to an artistic plane, finding rhythm and orbit in what is typically motionless. The animation serves as a metaphor for the often overlooked, lively interplay in a still life plate of food: a reminder of the animation within the inanimate, the life within the still.
