With just one day to go in our Mother’s Day Origami Butterfly Sale, we have sold 290 butterflies and raised $270! Half of all proceeds are going to the Go Fund Me of the family whose child died two weeks ago. He was a student at our school and a friend to many in my class.
Today was a good day! Unexpected behaviors were way down. Expected behaviors were up.
The other half of funds raised will go towards an end of the year celebration for my students.

Yesterday I posted my daughter's "imperfect" art. It was a lesson to her that her art, if it makes her happy, is exactly perfect in it's creation. Art is subjective, it is expression and truth. My eldest daughter used to love art until a teacher told her that her art was "wrong". There is no such thing. He destroyed her passion and it's years to convince her to create again. This is why I teach my children to create however they like. Art is meant to be a beacon of light, of raw emotion and has nothing to do with perfection, right or wrong. 🙏

One of my earliest framed artworks. Sorry I was a bit crooked with the camera trying to take the picture haha. and you can see my phone reflected in the body. 😬 This was a piece I did in pointillism when I was about 15. So it's a bit of an ancient piece haha. i still make grass like that. love squiggly grasses

I know I have been absent but I promise there are good things coming. I have a new batch of Open Calls starting next week and I have been busy creating my own platform to accept the artwork for Season 2 of Art Therapy with MindSoul Meditations. I will be announcing a new Open Call next Monday!! AI and traditional art will be accepted. I am working on video submissions. More to come!!
