There is nothing else to do but surrender! I swear but dogs will at some point rule this world (and rightfully so 🫠)!
Surrealism in sculptures just gives it an edge, that it can’t have in a painting. To me paintings can sometimes feel so intimate that they bring forth a sentiment of exclusion but sculptures are tangible and directly embedded into our physical environment.
Sometimes I wonder what this means in translation to digital art, XR and virtual worlds. Either way, it’s one of my weird somewhen in the week afternoon thoughts 🙂↕️
Btw. both sculptures are from the steady exhibit at th Museo Soumaya in Mexico City and created by Salvador Dalí (I am not sure if they were just based on his paintings or he actually crafted them; maybe someone else knows):
1- Gabinete Antropomórfico
2- Reloj Derretido

I am currently at the Museo Nacional de Antropología and the special exhibit about Amazonian culture and environment blew me away. The black and white pics are close ups of the Sebastião Salgado collection … incredible!

Just the other day I was prompted on my TikTok to add to a conversation on Anime villains: Anime villains we hate to love.
It made me think which villains were my favorites and why. Turns out after looking at all of them the commonality between them is easy to discover: with all of the nine I picked the author(s) took the time to explain where the characters frustrations and pain are coming from.
I wish in our world we would take more time to understand where others are coming from. I know it doesn’t excuse bad behavior but it makes it so we can focus less on the noise and more on collective problem solving.
It made me think which villains were my favorites and why. Turns out after looking at all of them the commonality between them is easy to discover: with all of the nine I picked the author(s) took the time to explain where the characters frustrations and pain are coming from.
