Pectra finalized ๐ Testing of the newly activated EIPs continues.
To clarify because I got a lot of messages today expressing confusion around 7702 vs. 4337:
EIP-7702 only lets you sign with your EOAโs ECDSA key. If you want to use paymasters or an alternative authentication, like a passkey, you need the ERC-4337 model, which allows custom signature schemes to be implemented inside the delegate logic.
7702 only changes execution logic (how the EOA behaves during the transaction), but it doesnโt replace:
1๏ธโฃ Who submits the transaction - With 7702 alone, the EOA still submits the transaction directly onchain and must pay gas in the native token like any regular transaction.
2๏ธโฃ How the transaction is authenticated (still via ECDSA signing)
For both of those use cases you need 4337.
EIP-7702 only lets you sign with your EOAโs ECDSA key. If you want to use paymasters or an alternative authentication, like a passkey, you need the ERC-4337 model, which allows custom signature schemes to be implemented inside the delegate logic.

Nothing like a near death experience to make you be productive lol ๐ grinded it out today and got it done ๐ช๐ผ I worked on a technical analysis of something new we are working on. It was fun diving so deep and learned a ton ๐ค

My heart still is beating fast from what happened earlier. It is Memorial Day in Israel and I went to a memorial service for the fallen at a central square outside. We had a 1 minute siren all across the country to commemorate the lives lost. We resumed the service with stories of those lost. All of the sudden, we heard what sounded like shots. Everyone started running towards the exits which they had made out of barricades. There werenโt enough exits and people started trampling each other. We got out and helped a couple people up. Many of my friends lost their shoes and we ran all the way home, some of them without their shoes. In the end, they had arrested someone suspicious but there was no attack. The community is so on edge here and ready to react in a moments notice.
It was a life flashes before your eyes moment and Iโm grateful that Iโm okay and safe at home ๐

AI agents are a great use case for smart wallets bc:

L2 fragmentation has gotten worse by the day. The more chains there are, the more confusing it is for the user. The end user shouldnโt have to choose between chains or bridges. Uniswap could have focused on cross-chain Interop but instead launched another L2.

Spent the day with family preparing for Seder part 2 tonight. I wasnโt originally going to come home for pesach but then I thought about Sahil Bloomโs graph that shows how our time with family diminishes as we age.
As an adult, itโs easy to not take the flight home and choose convenience. I want to prioritize family time more and Iโm glad I have the ability to do so ๐๐ป

Set up a new automation to track our work better and worked on some things related to Rollup Geth.
Getting things into the L1 takes time so with Rollup Geth we can put things L2s agree on into a fork of Geth. This will standardize interop between L2s and make it easier for people to build on them.

I've been looking at the code behind major wallet implementations and it is crazy how people claim to do one thing and then do another behind the scene. Or just forget to update things etc. I think there needs to be more code accountability for wallets but more on that to come.
