Want to stack more dollars? 💰 But which dollars do you mean? You might be thinking of USDT, USDC, or DAI… but in the real world, not all dollars are created equal either! 😉 American? Australian? Canadian? It turns out, ‘dollar’ isn’t just one currency – it’s a family of currencies with different faces!

The name ‘dollar’ comes from ‘thaler,’ a silver coin from 16th-century Europe. Over time, different countries adopted the name, each adding their own twist. Today, 35 countries use some form of a dollar as their national currency: 8 officially use the U.S. dollar, and 27 have their own versions! For example, the East Caribbean dollar is used in several Caribbean nations.

I’ll be exploring more coins from different countries, starting with these showpieces from my collection. Got any unusual coins or banknotes in your collection? Drop a pic or share a story!

stoked to have met the great alex pardee today!
been a fan for years, and finally owning some of his physical pieces for my home feels amazing.

brightmares/dead lines is an insane book — one half in full color (brightmares) and the other in black & white (dead lines), both just as striking.

these popmart collectible boxes are such a fun experience to buy and open (also perfect for gifts).

it's everything we love about NFTs — each mystery box comes with toys with different rarities, made with amazing quality and attention to detail, featuring work from various artists and at an accesible price of $16.

i'd love to do something like this with groupies, something for the culture...i feel like they're the perfect characters for it.
if anyone here has a connection at popmart, let's make it happen?

Fossil feces of dinosaurs

While museums put dinosaur bones on display, George Frandsen went further and began collecting... fossilized feces. The collection includes more than 5,000 samples of coprolite.

Perhaps the main question is, how did George Frandsen get hooked on such an extraordinary hobby? The collector himself says that, as a young freshman, he visited a fossil store in Utah and found a particularly impressive specimen.

After the purchase, Frandsen had a strange interest in coprolites, so the man began collecting them. Among the samples there are tiny peas and giant "tortillas" weighing up to 2 kg! Today, coprolites are important to scientists because they provide important clues about what fossil reptiles ate when they roamed the earth. As a well-known collector, Frandsen even lent his collection to the South Florida Museum. The collector is also the owner of the Poozeum website, which has nothing but... well, you get it.

Medical packages 😷

For most of us, traveling by plane is an opportunity to enjoy picturesque landscapes from a height of several thousand meters or chat with strangers. But for Nick Vermeulen from the Netherlands, every flight also becomes an occasion to replenish his collection... medical packages that are given to passengers suffering from air sickness.

Nick Vermeulen's passion for collecting paper bags began when he made a bet with a friend to find out who would collect more. Since 1986, his collection has grown exponentially, and 26 years later he set a world record.

In 2012, Nick Vermelen won a long-running dispute by entering the Guinness Book of World Records with 6,290 packages collected from 1,191 airlines in at least 200 countries. Nick's favorite specimen is a package that spent 16 days in space aboard the NASA Space Shuttle in Colombia. For the collector himself, packages are much more than just garbage, as they store memories of both good and bad travel experiences.

Bells 🔔

The world's largest collection of bells was collected by the chief curator of the Alexander Pushkin State Museum, Semyon Geichenko. Semyon Stepanovich began collecting bells in 1943, dreaming of equipping the bell tower of the Assumption Cathedral in the Svyatogorsk Monastery, where the poet's ashes rest. However, Geichenko got so carried away that the bells could no longer fit either in the house or in the barn. The man ensured that the best bells were placed on the cathedral bell tower, despite the fact that the Soviet government strongly prevented this. Nowadays, their ringing annually opens the Pushkin poetry festival in Mikhailovsky.

Yacht History Supreme ⛴️

Price: 4.5 billion dollars 🤑

The History Supreme yacht is not the largest in the world. This title belongs to Jeff Bezos's megayacht: the height of his Koru sailboat is approximately 127 meters, but it is estimated at only 500 million dollars. The status of the most expensive yacht still remains with the History Supreme, its price tag is $ 4.5 billion. The concept of the vessel was thought out by designer Stuart Hughes, and it took three years to implement the idea. The comic cost of the project is explained by the fact that the yacht was decorated with precious materials, gold and platinum. Now the waters of the seas are dissected by a real floating treasure trove belonging to an anonymous Malaysian businessman.
